Watched Blackfish this morning. Very interesting from all aspects. Well done.

Rewatched This is the End this afternoon. Was even better and more hilarious the second time around.

American Hustle. I thought Lawrence was fine - she was supposed to be screwed up.  Entire cast was good and Adams deserves some recognition by now.  Still prefer Gravity as a whole for an Oscar, however, but I haven't seen 12 Years a Slave yet.

R.I.P.D. - On DVD, not as bad as I anticipated.  Sort of a MIB wannabe good for a few laughs.

Watched Take This Waltz last night on Netflix streaming.  Very good movie.  Directed by Sarah Polley, who made a devestating movie about dementia a few years back called Away From Her.  I'd highly recommend both movies.  She's definitely a talented lady.

It got terrible reviews. Don't let it scare you off. I loved the second movie. I loved the first movie. If you loved the first movie, and want a similar movie, it is that.

Agreed. This film was stellar.

Even more stellar for me was Safety Not Guaranteed. I watched last night and it was brilliantly weird, hilarious, the acting was great and the writing was phenomenal. A great off beat indie rom-com-drama-comedy with an original and interesting plot.

I agree about Safety Not Guaranteed.  If you liked it, I'd recommend checking out more of the Duplass Brothers' stuff, since most of it has a similar tone.  I think at least a couple of them are on netflix streaming.

Yeah the two on my netflix list were Safety Not Guaranteed and Jeff Who Lives at home. After watching SNG I made the connection that the Duplass Bros did both now Jeff Who Lives at Home is next on my list.

Is Do-Deca-Pentathalon still on netflix streaming?  If it is, I'd recommend that as well.  I'm pretty sure that was a Duplass Bros. movie.

Robocop.

Well, not much left of Paul Verhoeven's masterpiece. Sure, it still criticizes American society but in a much different way, trying to keep everything "for all audiences". I loved so much about the original though, that I might be really biased.

And then there's the stupidity of (SPOILERS)
 - Turning off the lights to fight a robot (seriously? you're only handicapping yourselfs, you morons.)
 - Robocop can see through every camera hooked up to the system, in a small video feed on his HUD... but he can't stick a camera on his [dang] gun so he can shoot out of cover, because that would make all the fights ridiculously easy and boring, wouldn't it.
 - ... you know what? I'll stop there.

Because there's so many holes, you just have to ignore the plot-holes, stupidity and annoying writing (Samuel... go away) for a few (105) minutes and enjoy the shooting.
