Worry about Rozier who can't make an open jump shot

Hate to break it to you, but Rozier looks like the much better prospect.

Terry Rozier
Pick # 16
8 Points
2 Assists
1 Rebound
2 Steals
0 Blocks
2 Turnovers
3-6 FG
2-3 FT
18 minutes

Jahlil Okafor
Pick #3
9 Points
7 Rebounds
0 Assists
1 steal
0 blocks
3 Turnovers
3-10 FG
3-6 FT
23 Minutes

Pretty hard to argue that Okafor has played any better overall tonight than Rozier has - if I'm a Sixers fan, I've got to be pretty dissapointed right now.

True, but Okafor was impressive in his 1st game.  18 points 10 rebounds.

I think we all agree it isn't best to overreact to one summer league game.  But with Young it just feels like a lack of effort / hustle / desire to make something happen.

Considering he was a first round pick, Hunter doesn't get much playing time.

Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

All our guys are decent prospects.  Rozier, thornton, mickey and hunter.  I just don't see any of them as game changers.  They are decent "prospects".  I'd trade a couple of them if I could but we aren't really pigeonholed developing them either. If I could get Gerald Green who was a similar prospect to young who is already developed I would.

thornton surprisingly would be the guy I would stash and keep. I like his aggression.

Worry about Rozier who can't make an open jump shot

Shooting was known to be an area needing improvement for Rozier before he got drafted.  He can shoot, but he's not a very good shooter.

I think his shot has potential though.

It may not seem incredibly confidence inspiring to say this, but after Smart our best SL player thus far has been Rozier.

Mickey has looked solid at times too, but his performance today (3 points,  1 rebound, 1 blocks, 1 foul in 18 minutes) is hardly inspiring.

Mickey reminds me of a less explosive Brandan Wright.

Mickey is playing out of position.  He is learning a new system.

Don't worry
I never saw so many fans that want our rookies to burn. So much negativity around here lately.

I like Rozier. He looks worthy of the 16 pick. He only needs to get consistent from long range. His form is pretty good.

I know. Mickey played better yesterday with Smart leading the charge.  Also he is playing center which is ridiculous. He is a pf

Sorry, embarrassing accumulation of summer league talent.

the bigs can't rebound or defend, the others can't shoot the ball at all.

Triboy, Aldemar is 6-10 and he grabbed  14 rebounds in 28 minutes. Yesterday, Cooley, a 6-9 PF, grabbed 13 rebounds in 16 minutes. Mickey, in 53 minutes, has grabbed a total of 6 rebounds.

These guys sure look bad.
Smart's not playing!
he had some bad moments yesterday also.

Some things never change.  Even when Smart doesn't play you make a crack about him.  No surprise considering the name KeepRondo.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

in that case we need to worry about Young, Thornton and Hunter as well.
And we have the wrong Holmes on our team....Bowling Green Holmes is better than Texas Holmes.

I thought Mickey would have done better at center than he has. Disappointed in that. Definitely a PF who needs to play alongside a 2nd big man. That limits his opportunities for playing time next season.

I wonder if he'll make the roster. 6 established rotation caliber bigs ahead of him. Zeller, Amir, D.Lee, Sully, Olynyk, Jerebko. If he is a one position player, a PF only, where does Mickey fit in? If he makes the roster, does he make it past January?

And ... don't get me wrong. I like Mickey. I think with hard work, he could be a very good role player in 2-3 years. I just wonder whether this Boston team will have the patience for that.
