100% no question.

Having Al Horford on your team is always a good thing.

Absolutely Danny should have.

Absolutely he should've and glad he did.

Horford took the team to the next level.

Not landing Durant doesn't negate the Horford signing in any way.

I also still don't understand why some think Horford is past his prime and playing in the twilight of his career.

Sure, he's not the same player now he was 5 years ago but he still gets the job done. The issue is, he's playing out of position which is why the Celts need a center to pair with Horford.

Not to mention, Horford comes off as a very classy guy who goes about his business very professionally. Similar to guys like Jim Thome, Mike Lowell and Ray Allen (minus Ray leaving Boston for Miami.)

Without question.

I cringe to think who we'd have as a big man right now if we passed on Horford.

I still believe KD may again be a target. He always wanted to play with Horford and now Kyrie is here. I seriously don't think the target is AD...Ainge wants to take a shot at KD again.

how true was the narrative that KD wanted to play with Horford?

I mean, I'm all about it, but how do we go about matching salaries with the 50% s&t rule? It's going to be very difficult.

AD, on the other hand, will just take players and picks - of which we have plenty.

Maybe DA will shock the world and bring in both of them. Yep, that's what will happen  :D

The biggest “mistake”’was signing Hayward - but only in retrospect, because he got injured. I am looking at the effect on the team, not the wisdom of the decision based on what DA knew at the time.

Without that injury I see us in the finals last year with a real shot at winning . (Not favorites, but not cannon fodder either.) And I see a team that might not have the same chemistry problems - because the rooks would have started behind very capable players.

If Hayward can get back to some form of himself, why wouldn't the Warriors take him for KD verses not getting anything in a S&T. They took a chance on Boogie

Probably because they wouldn’t want to face KD in the Finals
