I debated long and hard between Wilt and Magic.
If left with the choice I would have as well. There's still some unbelievably awesome talent on the board. 2 of my top 7 are still there.

Four of my Top 12 left ... sweet!

My turn, right?

With the 9th pick in the 2011 CelticsBlog Historical Draft, The Los Angeles Lakers are estatic to pick:

Captain Skyhook!

Better build him a statute asap

lol...yeah I'm happy to get him at this point. I have some interesting ideas of who to pair with him...even though Nick took my 1st choice :( ;D

There's one guy left who I think can legitimately be included in the argument for best player ever (and no, it's not George Mikan).

How do I insert an image of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar?

Debated between him and Hakeem, went with defense and status as a binky.
Never discount the "binky" factor in these drafts. Very important in draft strategy ;D

I'm a bit surprised by the Kobe pick.  Great player, but there are a minimum of four players I have rated higher, and probably more.  I wouldn't have taken Kobe in the first.

I hear ya but he is a 5 time nba champ and the 2nd best SG off all time.. Closest thing to MJ there has been and is dominant. Closest to wilts record as well with 81 points. I feel is a good way to start a team..

Can't argue with you, there..Kobe is probably the next best thing to MJ right now. Good pick.

In this draft I was almost sure Magic and Oscar were early picks.

The versatility alone is huge as you don't have to worry about position in the second round and can just pick the BPA.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
