I also wonder how much of this is to maintain maximum leverage for himself and Klutch compared to true intent to leave.

I wonder if Ainge still pursues Davis when he hits free agency

Thoughts....

Is it worth a shot at least?

Absolutely not.  For one, the Celtics have no cap space to go after him.  Secondly, he’s made it perfectly clear he wants no part of the Celtics.

You quietly call his agent at some point in June, sure.

Rich Paul would get a kick of it I'm sure.

He might a year from now.

As for cap space, we didn't think we'd have cap space this season, and we ended up offering Kemba a max.

Not counting on it, just saying.

If AD would come the c's would move heaven and Hayward to get the necessary space.

But he won't come, he wants no part of Boston, so don't stress/put energy into thinking about it anymore.

Rich Paul also just got dumped by Marcus Morris.

I take him with a huge grain of salt. The guy is an ass clown. AD could fire him at any moment too.

That is a perfectly fine response and very much in tune with how Lebron has treated every free agency i.e. talk to me next summer when I'm actually a free agent, right now I'm focused on the season.  I much prefer that then the alternative of committing without playing and then changing your mind, or being wishy washy, or countless other responses.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Exactly.  As his friend learned making a commitment doesn't stop the questions.  Better just to say as little as possible until the time comes.

This is basically Christmas for me.

Laker's XXXX show turns into "AD might be leaving next year show".

OMG, this is Christmas, It's all wrapped up pretty, no batteries required...after next season, AD is gone and it's the Los Angeles Cavaliers.

2020/21 whose gonna play center for Lebron? Brook Lopez?

Hmmmm....what other presents are under the tree? Rondo gets into a fight with you know who after three straight losses?

What's Boogie gonna add to this situation?

I can't wait for the first Laker's Celtic's game. Smart will get Boogie chucked by early in the third quarter like he always does.

But, that's a candy cane. AD not signing an extension? That's the big present.

Translation "well, now that the Clippers have Kawhi and George and a much better coach and supporting cast, if they whoop us in the playoffs, I'm outta here."

I could be wrong, but I don’t believe we will have max cap available next season even if Hayward opts out of his 34 mil.
