The #Bucs are finalizing a deal with former No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield, per sources.

Mayfield finished his fifth NFL season strong after landing with the #Rams. Now he gets a chance to take over for Tom Brady in Tampa, and is still only 27.

To be honest though, that division is hot garbage. Bucs might still find themselves "in the hunt" with an average Baker season lol

Another way to look at it is, the Bucs now have a QB that will show up for practice.

Rodgers said he reached this decision Friday. The only remaining hurdle is the Packers and Jets reaching trade terms.

Rodgers plans to play for the Jets. They just have to finalize the compensation. Aaron said he still has the fire to play and GB wants to move forward with Love.

Said that he knew last year that it was going to be his last season in GB. Also, said that he didn’t/doesn’t have a wish list and didn’t make demands for players that the Jets need to sign.

The AFC East is going to be a bloodbath. Jets with Rodgers are a legit contender. The QB is literally the only thing that held them back last season, but the defense is legit and their skill position players are great

A lot of money, though. Not sure on the guarantee.

@RapSheet
The #Patriots are giving WR JuJu Smith-Schuster a 3-year deal worth $33m, source said. A big investment.

that is what Meyers and Lazard got.  Seems like the going rate for a low-end 2 or high-end 3.

It sounds like it's 22.5M guaranteed over the first two years according to Schefter? Not 100% sure though it sounds like the info is still coming in

I'm neutral on the signing. I don't mind adding him as a #2, but I think it's an overpay. Juju made $3.76M last year. He couldn't even break 1000 yards last season as the top option at WR, with Mahomes throwing him the ball.  Juju is receiving slightly more guaranteed than Jakobi, but the same contract otherwise. To me it would have made more sense just to keep Myers. You know what you are going to get with him. Juju could be Agholor part 2 for all we know.

What I'm worried about is that he was brought in to be a #1 and that the Pats don't want to pony up for a Hopkins, Cooks, Jeudy. Juju, Parker, Bourne isn't going to be good enough to compete with the better teams.

This surprises me. Just hadn't considered him a possibility.

I guess he's a No. 1? Though he had only 3 TD catches last season and 0 in an injury-shortened 2021. And I'm not a fan of the online trolling he did after the Super Bowl. Hopefully he keeps quiet and does his job.

his money is on their cap until they trade him.

His cap hit is actually higher if's he traded right now than if he stays in GB due to dead money.  If they wait until after 6/1 to trade him, it's actually more beneficial for Green Bay from a cap standpoint (not from a potential '23 draft pick situation, though).   There is also no urgency for GB to pick up the option bonus immediately.   His base salary is actually next to nothing.
