Someone on Instagram/Twitter posted a picture of the same photo setting as Kobe's.

It looks like a tribute to Kobe Bryant.

Never would have guessed that, but it’s definitely eerily similar. Brady is a Cali guy and an athlete of Kobe’s generation too, and they seemed to be friends to some extent. Makes sense

Some people are theorizing that this may also be Brady's way of retiring, but also paying respects from one GOAT to another.

Well yeah, I think the whole premise of trying to understand the meaning behind a post (is he walking in? is he retiring?) is pointless until it’s explained.

I didn't see it, but my friends who are texting along with the game say that the Hulu commercial had Brady saying "I'm not going anywhere" and contained footage from which the controversial still that inspired this thread came.

Well, it may mean "I'm not retiring", but was certainly intended to provide double-meaning given the first part of the commercial.  Brady has never been a big public jokester -- and obviously he has  right to have fun with this -- but if he ends up leaving after this money-making "joke", I'm not all that crazy about it.  Not really taking it too seriously, TBH, but this is a good joke for his haters, not really for his fans.

Hope it's true.  I want to see Brady either end this quickly and sign, or turn his back on a legit top offer to stay.  It's what Pats should do, IMO.

Loved the commercial and the photo if he does indeed return, but him trolling us while also leaving would be a little mean-spirited (and odd). I am going to assume he is returning to NE until I hear otherwise and this ad just makes me lean more that way.
