where did you get the list? i ve read yesterday a similar one but Carol was ranked 15nth below Buffon. But the prices were in euro so i guess i has to do with the conversion from bp to eu .....

Still can't believe that Carrol is the most expensive British player ever. Hope that won't be too pressuring for him...

Hmm ... interesting.

Liverpool are paying Andy Carroll and Luiz Suarez about £3 million less per annum in wages than they were due to pay Fernando Torres and Ryan Babel.

Another fun stat, appearantly the total of big transfers across the main leagues in eight countries (Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Turkey, Russia, Holland and Portugal) ... totaled £49.6 million.

Versus the now £225 million spent in England.

Suarez scored his first goal for Liverpool (in a win vs Stoke City) 16 minutes after he got in. I like him, he'll do great for the scousers.

I think they're going to give it as an own goal after all, but he had a very decent first performance. Showed some nice touches and flicks on the ball, closed down well and his movement was good.

To be honest, I'd probably Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. myself if I was facing an empty net in front of the Kop on my Liverpool debut too ;D...

What about Arsenal and Newcastle...Arsenal up 4-0 at half time and Newcastle fight back for the draw.

Some cracking games today. Obviously I'm delighted the Mancs lost, but Newcastle's comeback was tremendous.

Looks like they used some of the 35 mil to pay off some referees; a red and two pens?

(Joking though, all three were good calls).

As a Man Utd fan, I actually feel pretty good about Wolves winning. They need it more than we do  ;)

Liverpool supporters chanting "You should have stayed at a big club" at Torres yesterday. You can take away our players, but you can't take away our cheek.

Oh we won 1-0 with Torres being completely anonymous throughout 60 minutes until he was taken off.

CFC 2, MUFC 1. Good win for Chelsea. Terrible performance by the referee, Atkinson. He let the Chelsea players run amok in the second half and Luiz could've gotten a red card twice before we was subbed. Also, the penalty awarded to Chelsea was one of the weakest I've seen in a long time, especially in the EPL. Oh, well. Chelsea won't win a thing this year and in a cruel twist of irony may have helped Arsenal closer to the EPL title (though I think my Red Devils will prevail  ;))

It`s the 5th away game this season than MU gets the lead but fails to keep the 3points. At least this time it was against a strong side.

Nice goals from Rooney and Luiz (he did play hard but the goal was great considering he is a defender)

Chelsea sacked Carlo Ancelotti one hour after Chelsea's final league game. Very happy with the decision. Never liked the man. Looking forward to new boss.

Edit: Oops, this was meant to be in the EPL thread. Ah, nevermind. Close enough.

I think Roman has already made a call to V.Boas

I'd love to get Guus Hiddink back.

I wish the Turkish FA would allow him to hold dual roles. Club and country. I think the final competitive game for Turkey is sometime in September if they fail to make the European Championship. So he'd be available then if they fail to make it.

Timing sucks ... so close but not quite there.
