If Thomas is returned to Boston who starts at guard for most the season while he is hurt?
it'll be rozier and Shane Larkin backing him up

They better pass their physicals. IT4 wouldn't be very happy playing for the Celtics again or even at 110% after this fiasco.

So would Kyrie, and Cleveland will lose pretty much the best value they can get for their want away star.

The ball is on Cleveland's court, they can either just take the trade or refuse the value coming back to them. We can trade Jae and Zizic somewhere else and get some decent value. If IT is gone for the season, we can waive him, if not, surely he will play, if he wants the max, he has to. We also get the Nets pick back.

Boy, what a mess. Neither team wants this rescinded.

I'm sure they want to keep the deal regardless. They weren't getting anything more valuable than that Brooklyn pick.

However, while there's already like a 75% chance that Lebron leaves next summer anyways, hamstringing that team without IT for a large portion of the season would essentially be escorting Lebron out of the door. I'm sure that's what they're worried about the most.

Then again, it could just be them trying to angle for more, specifically Tatum.

he's never putting on a Celtics jersey again.  not after this.

what will happen if this deal gets voided is, Ainge will have to trade him somewhere else for way less value.

Hope you are right. He is damaged goods and needs to be moved

We'd think they don't have leverage, right?

I hope Danny thinks the same way. All the assets we give up, we can move again for someone else. Cavs would risk losing a very valuable asset AND LeBron.

but the trade will fail , bc IT4 won't be able to pass the physical

Cavs could ask for Lakers pick or Jaylen Brown if IT4 fails his physical...

At that point, screw them lol.

When Jeff green was traded to us, we discovered through the physical he had a heart condition that needed surgery, and the nba gave us a 2nd round pick cuz okc hid it.

If they don't accept a 2nd rounder or our late first from next year, let them take back kyrie and make lebron cry

They may not, but I would love to see the deal rescinded. Terrible trade only continues to get worse and worse. Disastrous. If I'm Danny I give the Cavs a few days to decide before I take my assets back and trade IT for picks..

I wonder which team will take IT for picks. There's got to be at least 1

I'm a bit confused... how can you trade for a known injured player and then void the trade due to said injury... Thomas' hip was not hidden from Cavs when decision was made.

TP.

This is the weird part for me as well.

They should have known coming in that Thomas is still dealing with a hip injury, yet they agreed to the deal anyway. Unless Ainge mislead them on IT4's medical reports, why are they all of a sudden going for a void for said injury?

they were definitely given IT's injury reports so any reneging on the agreement is wet feet from the Cavs and the League should step in to clean up this garbage.

There is a good chance Thomas misses a big part of the season. Having to keep him would make Boston a middle of the pack team.

Nothing more. We already badly overpaid, no reason to give up more..

Why do I feel like Thomas is going to need surgery and never will be in a Boston uniform again regardless of this trade

Negativity is natural CB karma....what you are feeling is normal.  ;D
