IT4's relationship with the cavs cant be good right now either. they dragged his reputation through the mud for a 2nd rounder.

AND made it sure that no team wants to deal with them.

real great start to the new GM ::) no wonder Kyrie wanted out

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
IT and the pick would have been an overpay. This could go down as the worst trade in Boston Celtic history.

Imagine, the top 5 pick will have completed his first year in the League while Kyrie will be a free agent. Dumb, dumb, dumb trade.
Kyrie is 25, who ever they draft will be 19 with the pick.  We gave up 6 years.  That is all we did. Crowder and Zizic are some gravy but to compete this year and Make Horford and Heyward timeline real. It is worth it.

Danny Ainge lost. We lost.

Why because he gave up a second round pick to get the deal done? Think of it this way. If you're a parent. And you're pretty good at sticking to you guns about your rules, but one day you kid is bugging you for something you've been saying no to for a week. Its friday, you just got home and all you want to do is relax, you give in that one time, just to have some piece and quite.

Now if you're talking about what we gave up. Some times you have to over pay to move forward. Irvings age fits better with Hayward, and Brown and Tatum. Unfortunately Horford may be out next year. Hopefully not and they can find some one that plays next to him, I just like the dude, and he's good for the young guys.

Also look at what Stevens has done with the talent DA has given him. Now he has some legit talent. Look at the numbers Irving put up when he was playing with Lebron who was the PG of the team, and they played slow ball. You put the ball in Irvings hands, and run with Hayward on one side, Brown on the other and Tatum/Morris and Horfod trailing. This team is going to be fun to watch, and hard for other teams to guard.

We still need to add to the bench for vet help. Looks like according to tradmachine Green sign back for one year. Still would like to see one more big for the second unit. Yabu and Semi need more seasoning.

Fireworks...on a time delay!

So happy about this trade, all the more so for the delay and the threat of it being voided. Here's hoping the Brooklyn pick is #6 or lower. Here's hoping Isaiah misses half the year and we build a hefty lead over them in the East standings. Here's hoping we meet them in the ECF again, should be an epic series.

Danny Ainge folded and gave Cavs a 2020 second-rounder.

Now teams are going to rip off Danny Ainge when they deal with him in the future.  ::) ::) ::)

But the plus side is...Ainge became a lenient man again after having a reputation of fleecing a team for multiple first-round lottery picks.
it's a 2nd rounder...

come on

it's fine

yeah i can live with that.  As long as it was NOT a 1st rounder. we are good to go now!

WELCOME TO BOSTON KYRIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
LET'S GO CELTICS!

Great job, Danny Ainge!
When I saw Irving destroying us in the playoffs, I thought, "Man, I wish he was our point guard."

As always, time will tell just how good the deal is.

But if Kyrie is an MVP candidate a few times over the next 8 years, the Nets pick is #7 in a 5 player draft, Zizic tops out as a serviceable rebounder and nothing more, Crowder just had the best shooting year of his career last season, and IT leaves Cleveland in free agency this could all look very good.

And, really, no matter what else happens, if the Celtics win a championship with Kyrie as their best player and Cleveland never wins one with IT, Crowder, Zizic, or whoever the picks turn out to be, Danny will have won.
