Wonder what will the Pelicans say about the Memphis pick not conveying

I'm not sure. If the Lakers do indeed make the playoffs and the Kings do not, then I would hope we could hang on to it. Not really fair we would be forced to give up the SAC pick and the MEM pick when their pick would be worse than the SAC pick (and all future picks would also be terrible).

20 games to go in the season. Memphis is one game "ahead" of Washington (at #7) and three ahead of Dallas (#8) and New Orleans (#8b). Dallas's pick goes to Atlanta, so they're not tanking. Overtake Washington? Maybe. New Orleans? Maybe. But I like where we are.

just to provide an update on why I didn't post updated standing last week --> all-star game pretty much reduced the number of games played so that there was no meaningful updates to send out.  I'll have something posted this week

As of today 2/26 the Clippers have a 89% chance of making the playoffs. This is good news for the Cs.

If the Clippers can hold the 7th seed that leaves the Spurs 86% (chance of making playoffs), Kings 14.5%, T-Wolves 5.4%, and Lakers 3.1% to fight it out for the 8th seed.

Not the haul we where all hoping for at the beginning of the season but the Cs are realistically looking at a 12-14 pick from the Kings, 18-19 from Clippers and 22-24 with their own pick.

And about a 5% chance then of winning the lottery for a 2-4 pick. :-\

It'll be a "miracle" if we get the Memphis pick this year. We should not even speak of it unless the miracle happens (e.g. ping-pong!).
The Kings and LAC are another matter. I said the Kings would finish around 9th. Boy, did I underestimate the fight in this team.
As long as Le, I mean, the Lakers tank the pick for the Clippers looks good. I'd rather have it this year.
We need the Spurs, Clippers, Jazz and hopefully the TWolves to step up and overthrow the Kings.

Bagley has been balling, but he was helped off the court with a knee sprain. MRI today.

Bjelica, a DNP-CD for 3 of last 4 games, probably is back in the rotation again if Bagley misses time.

update for this week

Standings as of 2/28/19

Memphis pick --  #6 --  (protected top 8 )
Games Behind    Current Wins   Games Left   Last 10
Memphis               ---                     24                   19              4-6
Washington          +2                     25                   21              3-7

--> Memphis settling into the #6 slot.  would take a surprising winning streak to have them pass Washington, NO and Dallas to convey the pick this year.

Kings pick -- #14 -- (protected if top 1 - becomes Sixer pick if #1)
Games Behind    Current Wins     Games Left    Last 10
LA Lakers                   1                     30                      21                4-6
Sacramento             ---                     31                      21                5-5

-> Kings still fighting to make the playoffs.   currently holding off the Lakers but hoping Bron pushes the Lakers just enough to shove Sac down one spot in the lottery.

Clipper Pick #18 tied with San Antonio  --  (protected  top 14)
Games Behind    Current Wins     Games Left    Last 10
San Antonio              ---                     34                      19                 3-7
LA Clippers              ---                     34                      19                 5-5
Utah                         +1.5                  34                      22                 6-4

-->  Clips  hanging tough and caught SAS in the standings.  giving an extra chance to convey the pick this year.

Boston Pick -- tied #22
Games Behind    Current Wins     Games Left    Last 10
Houston               0.5                      36                      21                7-3
Boston                 ---                       37                      20                4-6
Portland               +1.5                    38                      21                7-3

-->C's past 2 weeks have seen a freefall in terms of who they're near in the standings.   good news for the pick, not so good for the team's playoff standings.  if they continue to trend downward on the court, this pick which looked destined for the mid 20's could wind up at 20 or lower.

Second Rounders:
Boston (protected 31-55)

Second rounders
Boston - #52
looking like a safe bet they aren't losing this pick this year

I'd like to add that it kills me to think that if we had had SAC's pick last year instead of this year, Luka would be a Celtic.

Then you should take another look at DeAndre Hunter of Virginia. He should go in the top 10 but a lot of the mocks have him being picked in the teens. It would be a big mistake by those teams in the top 10.

Even ATL nabbed promising rotation players at #19 the last two drafts: John Collins and Kevin Huerter (protected MIN pick)

Right now MEM pick would have 3.8% chance to convey

What does everyone think of Zion Williamson?

Is he going to be a franchise player or a flash in the pan?
