So long as the vibe is kept casual, I'm down.

I'm not sure if we've done a draft like this, but I'll throw it out there for consideration:  a 10 round draft (or 12 rounds, whatever) where each team drafts two players from defined eras.  Maybe 1940s-1965; 1966 - 1979; 1980 - 1995; 1996 - 2009; 2010 - 2024 (allowing rookies).

Over the years, I've never participated in a fantasy draft on this site.  What is the objective/scoring of the proposed draft being discussed on this thread?  I have experience in fantasy baseball with scoring based on offense and pitching.

Basically, draft a team & debate.  Then vote on a variety of categories (i.e. best team, best defensive team, best offensive team, etc.)

We've also done playoffs in the past too but crap tended to hit the fan there.

Casual is definitely the kind of thinking for my mind. I don’t want anything tense, just a fun discussion around guys from eras gone by, and seeing the way different posters build a team.

The 2-3 players from XX-XX period is a really interesting proposal. Maybe do it by year drafted or something?

With drafting days, what are people’s preferences time-wise?

I can probably do anytime, but after 3PM EST is best for me.

Greedily, later suits me too. But flexible :)

I like the non top 75 idea. That is great. I would ban current day players because they would be a cheat sheet type options as several of them will be on the next list. Maybe no current day players or no player seasons after 2010. Something like that.

The Justice For Dwight Howard tour.
Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time.

But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.

I think no top 75 would be fun. Still heaps of really good players. No top 75 + no players currently playing? That seems doable

I like no top 75 a lot.  It's hard to overcome not getting one of the elite guys in these games.  Or no MVP winners would be similar.  Only chops 35 players off the list and would allow for some current nba players to be taken, but not LBJ, Durant, Jokic, Curry, Giannis and some others.
