I have been listening to this show for about a month on the radio. Finally had a chance to watch it this morning on TV.
Why do they have a host/'moderator' who hardly speaks? Wouldnt it be better if they had her interact a bit in the conversation?

Why do they have a host/'moderator' who hardly speaks? Wouldnt it be better if they had her interact a bit in the conversation?
I don't watch much TV (let alone American TV), so feel to correct me, but my impression is that many shows have hosts mostly for their looks, and bcs she is female she can also play the role of the "peacemaker" between the two genius gladiators. Creepy but also a rather usual format.

TP. Exactly. It also saves the talking heads from having to introduce segments, intro and outro the show, etc. Wilbon and Kornheiser do it but they're exceptions.

She keeps track of the time on the segments as well as the other obvious reasons already stated

Am I the only one who finds it strange that any woman would ever want to be on any kind of program/show called The Herd? I just don't think that it's a good look, to put it mildly.

Because Skip doesn't want to look like a fool in front of someone who actually spouts sports knowledge and wisdom :laugh: :P
Even Shannon with his atrocious Lebron-love, but at least he seems really knowledgeable about NFL stuff (having played in the league) and can be reasonable at times (and humorous)

Joy Taylor has actually moved on to the Herd with Colin Cowherd. There's a new girl, Jenny Taft, moderating for Undisputed now.
