TP to FLCeltsFan for the preview!

These are Glen Davis's defensive rebounding numbers for the past 7 games: 1, 1, 1, 1, 3, 1, 1.  That's frankly absurd for a PF: if he is going to start, we need him to do better.  If he cannot do better, then indeed, let's see more Powe, who not only dominated Tim Thomas (not hard to do) but held his own against Brad Miller and always does well against Noah (notice that Noah was not the same player after Powe dropped him with a hard but legal foul).  Our second quarter malaise began right after we forgot about Powe on the offensive end, and it was inexplicable to me why he came out of the game when he did in the 4th quarter, when he was both scoring and playing good defense.

I blame the game 1 loss on it being an afternoon game. We can never win afternoon games.

But anyway, tonight is a must win.

Also, anyone else tired of all the moral victories?
All i hear is excuses from my fellow Celtics fans. Not just after game 1, but after we lost to the Fakers, and Cleveland and the Magic and the Bulls in the reg season and Milwaukee, and New York, and etc. I’m tired of the excuses. I just want a real win.

Doc please start the correct player today, the answer is a 6'8 250 pound undersized PF looking right at you. He starts BBD and we're screwed. Powe can put up KG numbers when given the minutes, Davis can't Doc....
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

I think Doc sticks with Baby because

A. He can actually move the ball within the offense and hit the jumper - both are a lot closer to KG's role in our offense than Powe's game.  I like Powe but he's shown zero ability to do either.

2. Powe can create his own offense better than Baby can, which is a useful asset on our sometimes offensively challenged bench.

%. Leon still seems to miss more defensive assignments than anyone on the team.  Neutralizes a lot of his good play when he screws up and costs us 3-4 layups/dunks a game (like Game 1)

Perk is the key to this game, though.  He needs to do a better job neutralizing their bigs on D and the boards, help out on Rose in the paint while protecting against alley-oops, and add 12-16 ppg to pick up some of KG's slack.  He's got a much bigger workload this series than he's ever seen before - how he adjusts is gonna be huge.

I've watched the 1st game again. Transition defence was really terrible, with frequent plays where there wasn't anyone pressuring the outlet passer or playing the safety. This is the first issue I think needs to be solved, even if at the cost of not crashing the glass so much. The defensive intensity wasn't always present, with some disgusting half-hearted runs to close out shooters.

Offensively, Rondo played too much as he was Chris Paul. We have to play faster, with the ball and the players moving quicker and more off-the-ball action, otherwise it's going to be though to unbalance the Bulls defence.

I expect some of these issues to be solved and a blow out tonight.

IMO, BBD needs to start due to the numerous points already made in this thread.  However, Powe has to play more minutes.  His rebounding is too important.

I've never seen Perk have to play so many minutes in recent memory and this is because Mikki Moore sucks so much right now.  Wake up, Mikki!  >:(

A must win. We are now the underdogs in the first round against a 7th seed team. That should fire them up.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

Getting very excited for this one.  One way or another, we're gonna learn a lot about this team tonight.
