Trey Lance traded to Cowboys for 4th round pick. Wow.

Let the Trey Lance era begin?
That seems super impatient. Odd

I heard he was essentially competing to be the third stringer, and might not have one the battle but for draft/salary considerations.

This could be a do-or-die year for Dak. If he can't get the Cowboys to win SB, he may just be gone. Also a good year for Trey to get back his rhythm while supporting Dak from the sidelines.

The #Browns are waiving OL Michael Dunn, per source. He appeared in 28 games with four starts over the past three years.

Very classic Browns move. I'm sure he'll be OL depth somewhere

The Browns having been doing all kind of weird things the last week.

I mean one day last week in the morning they put Kellen Mond on waivers and the coach is loudly proclaiming Dobbs is the back-up QB.  Dobbs gets traded like 2 hours later and they pull Mond off of waivers.

Then just yesterday they make that trade with the Patriots, trading a back-up OL for at best a 3rd string RB when they have arguably the best RB in the sport and a 2nd year back-up they love.

Then today they cut Cade York who just last year was a 4th round pick (and while he has missed some kicks, is still a top 100 all time kicker in accuracy) and then trade a 7th round pick for a kicker that lost his training camp battle and was probably going to be cut.

Browns just got Brown.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Chandler Jones reportedly announced he no longer will be playing for the Raiders after souring relationship with head coach Josh McDaniels.

McDoofus at it again? But Jones is on his last legs too.

Jones fell off a cliff last season with only 4.5 sacks, but yeah, I don't know how McDaniels is still a head coach in the NFL.

Didn’t the Raiders use a top 10 pick on someone at Jones’ position this spring?

Terrible.  RIP Mike Williams (not the WR from the Chargers):

Quote
Mike Williams, a former wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills, has passed away. He was just 36.

Jon Scott, a reporter at Spectrum News 1 in Buffalo who regularly covers the team, confirmed the news on Twitter late last night, Sept. 5, reporting that Williams' death came as a result of injuries caused by a recent construction accident.

A GoFundMe account was launched shortly before he passed, where his father, Wendell Muhammad, gave a more detailed account of his condition following the incident as he requested assistance to help him travel from Dallas, TX to Tampa, FL, to be with Williams.

It's unclear what day the tragic accident occurred, but we know a steel beam fell on his head while he was working on a construction site, leading to significant swelling in his brain and spinal cord, resulting in complete paralysis from the waist down and in his right arm.

He's been out of football for a decade, but he was still a young man.  Tragic.

Also, not the Lions draft bust Mike Williams.

Just a horrible story.  RIP.

I guess when you are paying your QB peanuts you can give your best defender QB level money.  But man is that an amazing contract on so many levels.

Man, big money. He is a great DE though, and should be for the duration of this deal if he remains healthy
