I’m sure most of us wouldn’t want to be judged on the basis of 4 days on the job. Give the kid a break.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Langford looks like a good NBA player to me.  I'm actually pretty high on him.

I believe in Nesmith, but his start is admittedly frustrating.  He's getting some good looks and just isn't hitting any of them.  But I'll never give up on a rookie too early again after watching Avery Bradley's light come on.  He played like hot garbage up until Doc pointed him at Jameer Nelson and said "See that thing?  Kill it!"  And Bradley has been a quality player ever since.

I just don't know what a shooter's Jameer Nelson is.  But I do think he'll figure it out.

If a rookie is going to be good he generally shows it right away. If we have to make excuses and preach patience the ship has already sailed. Thankfully Pritchard is solid. He’s certainly worthy of the 14th pick.

Jalen Brown looked even worse than Langford his rookie year.
I’m not sure about that. He got praises from lebron when they met. As he was decent guarding him and I think gave him trouble on the offensive end(given lebron was probably lazy that game) He also was shooting threes at decent clip and form.

Obviously the correct answer for both Nesmith and Langford is: It’s too early to make a call.

This is kind of the end of the thread for me.

Langford's been hurt and Nesmith has played all of 57 minutes in the NBA.

Langford flashed some positive signs when he was on the floor last season. My Nesmith comp has always been JJ Redick, who took years to become a rotation player in the NBA and Aaron hasn't had the benefit of a real training camp or preseason as a rookie.

Let's see what they actually are before making any decisions.

We shouldn't even be asking weather these guys are going to pan out.

I will say this though. Call it a hunch but when we get eliminated from the playoffs guarantee at least 3 or 4 of these 1st and 2nd yr. players don't show up.

My hot take:

LarBird33 was a better talent evaluator than most of the posters in this thread.

This thread is a bust.

He was banned a few times for overzealous posting. I don’t remember if he left voluntarily or was permanently banned, but I think he left on his own before he was perma-banned. A lot of unnecessary drama either way.

When you draft an injured player you can't use injuries as an excuse for lack of performance.  It was a bad pick because he was injured and appears to be injury prone.  Now maybe he at some point gets healthy, but how many games lost until that happens.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Honestly maybe I'm looking through rose colored glasses but below is my assessment

Romeo - Jury is out but I still have high expectations for him.  I do not think he will ever be a lights out shooter but he will shoot better then smart and will defend at a high level.  He can also get to the hoop.  Look at Semis improvements this year.  He started hitting shots and people are closing out on him letting him get to the rack on occasion.  This will be the same for Romeo.  He's had freak injuries and I hope after this last on they are behind him.

Nesmith - Orlando game he looked the best he's looked.  He was reacting quicker and was in the right spot most of the time.  He has good instincts.  He boxes out, showing he can block some shots and when his shot start falling look out.  He's pressing to much and needs a little confidence.

I expect both to be in the rotation next year.  Both have starter level potential.  I don't see all start potential but definitely starters in this league at some point.

This pretty much makes no sense.  And maybe I'm not remembering correctly but weren't you one of the posters who were thrilled with Joel Embiid's performance the two years after he was drafted in which he didn't even play in a game?  Not to mention Simmons who didn't play in his first year.  Only the Sixers should draft injured players?  I don't get it.
