No.  You could actually flip this and say it is a positive.  He gets 2 months off of rest in the middle of the season with the All-Star break included in his downtime.  He will be back for the playoffs fresh.

This is super sad news. Not just because he's on my fantasy team but also because that Clips team has been hampered year on year by MAJOR injuries. Super unfortunate that they're a contender who hasn't gotten a shot to legit contend.

Not necessarily.  Clippers are certainly going to make the playoffs, and if Griffin comes back soon hopefully (for them) they can at least hold onto the 5 or 6 seed.  It's a good team when healthy, and if they're healthy in April, still a threat to anyone in a series.

If it was possible, it seems an unlikely target with the news that Horford came here because he'd get to play the 4.

You contend in the playoffs.  They are easily making the playoffs.

Clippers curse?

It seems sad though because he just has not been able to stay healthy the last few years and I think he is transitioning away from superstar into just a star because of his age and style of play. They really have to think hard about giving him the full 5 year max.

i think they'd prefer the 5/6, if unlikely they catch the 2/3 anyways then avoid the 4 seed (second round against gsw)

I'm not wondering if they will make the playoffs but more the fact that the team has not played together much as a whole before playoffs.  This will hurt there chances every round.  And to me the clippers live and die with chris paul, no matter how good the other players are the clips rely to heavily on paul.

At this point I think it's more likely than not he ends up on the same list as Barkley, StocktontoMalone and Ewing.

Not a list you want to be on.

Clippers are still DEFINITELY making the postseason lol.

They are 11 games above Portland, and Portland it tied for the 8 seed right now.

Huge disparity between 7 and 8 seed (OKC > POR by 7 games)

This is not bad for us, by the way. There are a whole bunch of teams (SAC, DEN, NOP) who could start tanking but are actually capable of making the playoffs because it looks like 34 wins might get you the 8th seed.

Heck, at 14-27 Minny is only 3 games out.

I'd like to be on that list!
