He was sick for a couple weeks.  Kyle Draper said he talked to Tommy last Sunday and he will be back soon.  Maybe next home game?

He had the flu that Hayward and Brown also caught but is nearly fully recovered.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

I hope he gets well soon i miss his insights! Also  i wonder if all the players ever get the flu shot? If i was the manager i would insist on it although i know he cant force them to take it.

Stuck with Scal on road games anyway sadly. I like having someone who, as a recent coach and less so recent player, has insights into the modern game. But man he can be annoying

The second question here is - and I hope Tommy is with us a good long time, but he will probably retire before any health issues begin to bother him - Is Scalabrine the long-term plan for the future ? When he first came on board, I thought he was a perfect protoge' - but he is simply annoying to listen to. Seems with all our history, there are all sorts of options out there. McHale would be great, but I'm sure his national gig is better for him. ML Carr ? We could at least count on him to be an unapologetic homer, which is a tradition I hope the Celtics always continue.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

ML Carr would be awesome. Need my dosage of homerism

i haven't seen Tommy on any recent broadcasts, is he ok?

tommy is an old old man son. i treasure every game he calls because any game could be his last. his best days are far behind him and we know it is coming soon. a true legend. love that guy! i'll be so depressed when he is gone.

Kind of like listening to Johnny Most on the radio...some people are hard to replace.

Just thought about this the other day in the shower.. We need to cherish every moment we have left with Tommy and Bill, two absolute legends of this organization and league.

last game I went to was 2 yrs ago and it hurt to watch heinsohn walk out on the court, he looked bad and in pain. personally I hope he's still doing this because it's still fun to him.

In retrospect I think if it weren't for heinsohn I might not have stuck with the Celtics, when I really got interested in basketball the big 3 were not quite what they were and we got real bad real fast... I watched a lot of bad basketball religiously... because of tom heinsohn. he's said some outrageous things over the yrs. some he was/is right about and a lot was just plain entertainingly absurd.

just hope he's not still doing this stuff because he feels he has to.
