eja is very happy with the results of the NBA draft. I am less interested in some prior conversations than I was before.
I like what I think I can get at picks 2,9, and 10.
I even like what I can get at pick 22 and I even like what I can get at picks 27 and 29
I am looking forward to the summer league.
Within the context of most of my roster being on the market I am looking to move bits and pieces.
Do you want a shot at Semi Ojeleye or Frank Jackson or someone like that? Maybe you're a Villanova fan and want Josh Hart? Maybe you noticed CP3 left the Clippers (well not yet he didn't) and you sense an opening for Jawun Evans. Picks 27 and/or 29 could be for you.
I have Justin Holiday and he is an UFA (I think). Decent year last year.
Matthew Delavedova....borderline starter...at least when they're not starting Giannis at PG
Lucas N. Was having a decent year till Ibaka showed up.
Two NBA first rounders (picks 27 and 29) and these players ought to be worth a first next year for somebody that thinks they'll be picking around 16-20. (Yes yes. Roster crunch.) Think it over.
I was originally thinking of just taking on 3 rookies this year, but now I'm leaning toward 4. If I take on 5 it would probably be because something unforeseen went wrong, like....idk...Jahil O gets depressed and quits basketball and opens a cafe next to an inn in Vermont and claims to be 10 million times happier, or Jeremy Lin is kidnapped on an Asian tour or Tim Hardaway Jr is indicted for murder and racketeering.
I have a couple targets in mind at 22, but if they're gone I could slip back to 27 and make 22 available for the right price.
I got other little things to mess with. Say you really want pick 22 or 27 or something but you think you'll pick around 9-11 next year and that's just way too high. I should have two 2nds next year to throw your way as well.
Someone is gonna get the next Malcolm Brogdan. Or Draymond. It could be you. It could be me.
