19 TOs, 50% FT%, scoreless the last 4:15, against a winless team. This is on everyone except Brown.

BTW, in our three losses, the DT-TT duo has notched 10, 11, and 7 points.  Can't have 2 starters doing that.

Brad is slow to adjust.

I hate that Brad said we were getting good looks. Doesn't matter. They weren't falling. Get to the cup, get to the line, get some easy shots to get you going and then go for the 3. Is this not basic BBIQ? I'm a huge Stevens fan by the way but some of his comments are perplexing.

These 2 Jays are not as good as we would like to proclaim them .

Mentally, they are still average players.
. But but...that ECF... without kyrie.  Remember when they were young and were gonna be all stars?

Up 5 with 4+ minutes to go and they let Plumlee defend the entire C's team....sickening

I’d guess sitting on the bench all year would do that.  Not mak8ng an excuse but brad has no idea how to use his talent anymore

DT at PF in a two-big lineup isn't working on either side of the ball for the team and they need to start Teague or Pritchard until reinforcements arrive.

I can't believe we didn't cut him and keep the 30th pick. 4 years controlled salary. Wondering what the implications on the cap were to cutting him.

Did not see game - How is it possible that the Celtics did not score the last 4+ minutes ? How does that happen ?

Tatum, Brown, and Smart don't know who the alpha is yet.  Tatum should be, but Brown and Smart have really stepped up.  In a way, no egos and cameraderie is amazing, but eventually they'll have to figure this out. They also looked tired after 3 games in 4 nights.

No big deal.  Celtics had a few nice opportunities to tie up or take the lead, the shots just didn't drop. They were all good shots, though - Tatum's corner 3, Smart's iso floater, and Brown's 3.

This was also the third game in four nights at the beginning of a season with a short layoff.

Detroit's better than their record suggests, too.  They play hard, defend, and have two MIP candidates in Grant and Jackson.

All good. On to the next one.

Where do you get off coming in here with all those reasonable statement!  we want to be mad!!
haha
:)

He’s right but it’s fair as a fan to be frustrated by this. There’s still no excuse to come out the way the did in the first quarter. Hopefully it’s a good lesson.

yeah, it was a bad loss, especially because we seemed to have control of the game with just a couple minutes left and then the wheels completely came off.

Sometimes you have put players in that can get you a bucket. I guess we have no such players....

well we do have 2 of them, but they both went cold, and Smart was pretty good himself at blowing up our lead.

Nights were Smart feels the need to take over don’t usually end well.

His job isn't really that complicated, play monster def, and execute the offense and get Brown and Tatum in position to score, penetrate and dish or finish if it is there.  If he would just do those things really well and be efficient on offense, we'd be a lot better off.

Good points all - Marcus is simply not a very intelligent player. Never has been. You gotta be aware of and then play within your limits.
Of course, it is equal part the coaching staff's responsibility to teach him his limits and to make him stay within them during games.
Brad Stevens is too soft to ever win a title. As relatively quiet as KC Jones was, Bird & Co. clearly respected him.

Typical Brad post-game comment, "I don't know what happened at the start of the game," Stevens said. "We just weren't running."
