Eric Pincus has published his projections of  cap space for NBA teams next summer:

Celtics look like they're in good shape, assuming they don't re-sign AJ, Zoeller and maybe Jerebko or Olynyk. They should have space for a major FA.

Other teams not in good shape include GS (they'll be maxed out with Curry and Durant, and may not have room for Iguodala), Knicks (beyond max if they sign Rose), Hawks (can't sign Millsap), Clippers (tough to see them signing Paul and Griffin w/o going over cap), Toronto (Lowry will be tough), Bucks (Monroe will be gone) and Wizards (Porter will be gone).

Looks like their best options are Millsap, Noel and Griffin. They have a real shot at Millsap with Horford here. Philly is way under the cap, but I don't see them re-signing Noel. Doubt they would be interested in Monroe or Porter. Can't see Griffin going to Boston. Noel yes, he's a local guy.  So it's Millsap or Noel.

The pickings are slim, which makes the prospects of a trade more likely. Barring a trade, I think Ainge's FA target will be Millsap-- Horford's old partner in Atlanta. He makes the most sense.
