He's a high ceiling, low floor guy.

I feel like he's more likely to be an injury bust, or someone who never gets strong enough to stay on the court.

I think Bol will be closer to a taller but weaker Raef LaFrentz rather than the Zinger
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I can help but to visualize Smart destroying him in the post
 ;D ;D ;D
208lbs and he's 7'2 :o I think PBev and Smart would easily be able to push him around, let alone actual big men

Odd thing is before he got injured, Bol was weighed in at ~235.   He lost a lot of weight by the draft combine.

I love his length and skill level, but that's a worrisome flag.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

If we keep all 3 bullets, definitely could see Danny giving it a shot with him.

He shot well in the workout I saw today but is he simply the latest hype-train.    I mean if he is there are 22 take a flyer but I don't think we should take a chance much earlier.

Bol is not going to start on a team next year unless they are tanking!

I think Bol Bol is a player you take in the mid-20s. At that stage he's worth the risk.

Really want nothing to do with Bol Bol. He has bust written all over him.

I disagree

You mean injury prone written all over him if anything

Bol Bol package is intriguing

The problem with Bol Bol is that once he gets into contact nobody has any idea how he will hold up. It's a mistake to think that he's not a premier talent based on his size and skillset alone. It is also a mistake to assume that will translate with NBA level strength and durability.

Which is why he may drop to 20 in a weak draft, and we should nab him if he does. I wouldn't be upset if we took him at 14. Risk/reward.

I'd be "meh" about it.

He would not get off the bench for a year or two. There is nothing about his game that makes me get excited.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
I do like the Porzingis comparison. He is like a slighter Porzingis with more injury concerns. Sam Vecenie also mentioned on his podcast that he has some work ethic concerns. For what it is worth I think his jumper is significantly better looking than Porzingis' was pre-draft.

I might compare him to a 40% shooting Thon Maker.

Not interested in him at 14 but at 20 I would be happy if we drafted him.
DKC:  Rockets
