In the spirit of Footey thread of "Which Bigs do you like in this draft"
https://forum.celticsstrong.com/index.php?topic=100173.0

Celts seem like they have worked out a ton of guards thus far.  Recent news/rumor is that 6'5 Tyler Herro did very well in his Celtics workout and hit 80 out of 100 threes.  Dylan Windler who is a 6'8 G/F has been asked for a 2nd workout. Per scouting report, both have good motors, iq and are good at running around screens, receiving pass and shooting the 3

Other than these two guards, who else do you like?

Nickeil Alexander-Walker is one of the first round guards I like. Good shooter, high BBIQ, can play both guard spots, good defensive instincts and is a good passer. Not a jaw-dropping athlete, but he can do it all.

But I think the more fun ones to talk about are the second round guys.

Jordan Bone is one of these. He's a freak athlete.

-Russell Westbrook: 36.5 inches

Another is Miye Oni. Got good size (6'6" and 210lbs) with pretty good athleticism and explosiveness. Has a pretty nice handle, can guard 1-3 and is very cerebral. He is old though.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Super in on Carsen Edwards. Also like Herro, Alexander-Walker, and Jerome

He is a bit of a binkie of mine. I think he'd be the perfect bench guard to play with Smart. Can cover the less threatening guard comfortably, has thrived as a secondary ball-handler already in college, can shoot the three and the free throw comfortably. I love the idea of having a smooth operator like him next to our pitbull in Smart.

The second rounders are always more fun to guess!

Thybulle, Horton-Tucker
Horton-Tucker is such a strange prospect. 6'5", massively bulky wing/guard with a 7'1" wingspan and strong hands who can't shoot, but moves his feet very well and can finish inside. Who knows what he could be.

These are my favorites too with later pick/s.

NAW looks good, guessing he's picked between 12 and 17 or so...

TP for the shoutout, Tr1boy.

Here is my list of guys within our reach:

Romeo Langford (super high projection from HS, had hurt hand which hurt his shooting percentage)
Kevin Porter (risky especially on attitude front, but supremely talented)
Nickeil Alexander (great shooting form, potential to be another Brad Beal?)
Tyler Herro (sniper shooting percentage, had great workout with Celtics)
Dylan Windler (great shooter, more of a swing)

NAW reminds me of Spencer Dinwiddie

Not bad

It will be interesting to see where the Celts go with this

Do they want to give more ball handling duties to Hayward, Tatum.... thus legit 3pt shooting helps to spread the floor more?

Agree. I think they will focus on shooting, but try to get at least one guy who can create own shot, especially if we lose Kyrie.  It's a good draft to have 3 middle picks IMO, as there is a lot of value from 10 through 25, so no need to trade up really.

That's why I think he'd make a good pick in the 20s of this draft.  Might as well take a swing on a guy with weird measurements with a high ceiling.
