Knicks

 C: Willis Reed, Pat Ewing
PF: DeBusschere, Oakley
SF: Bernard King, Latrell Sprewell
SG: Earl Monroe, Allan Houston
PG: Walt Frazier, Michael Ray Richardson

It may have only been for 1-2 seasons, 3 at most, that Amar'e Stoudemire was a near dominant player for the Knicks, but when he was, I'd take him over most Knicks in history regardless of position, never mind strictly PFs.

I also think Melo definitely deserves to be on here. Add those 2 and the all-time Knicks team looks pretty dangerous.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

My initial thought was the Thunder/Sonics, but I didn't look at enough for depth purposes, but a starting 5 of Payton, Westbrook or Allen, Durant, Kemp, and Sikma has to be up there. Did a quick look and I think they don't have enough overall depth on the bench (aside from Allen or Westbrook)?

Since I live in Cleveland, I will do the Cavs, even though I know they aren't the best, I have to give them some love.

PG - Mark Price, Kyrie Irving, Terrell Brandon
SG - World B. Free
SF - Lebron James
PF - Kevin Love, Larry Nance, Hot Rod Williams
C - Mark Daugherty, Zydrunas Illgauskas

So there is my 10, not the most balanced team because the SG's and SF's for the Cavs are terrible (outside of James), but I think that would be a fairly well crafted team with excellent shooters around James and solid interior defense from Daugherty and Big Z.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Kings

Bibby, Christie, Peja, Webber, Cousins

Bench - Kevin Martin, Otis Thorpe, Brad Miller, Mitch Ritchmond, Reggie Theus

This is a fun team.

I just had a flashback to that debauchery of 2002.

If you count the Royals, that team becomes a heck of a lot better with Robertson, Tywman, etc.

The Pacers

 C: Rik Smits, Dale Davis
PF: Jermaine O'Neal, Detlef Schrempf
SF: Paul George, Ron Artest
SG: Reggie Miller, Danny Granger
PG: Mark Jackson, Don Buse

Not up to the mark of some of the other teams.

Good call. Yeah, I will go Amare over Oakley.

I don't know where to put Melo. I am partial to Sprewell and Houston because they led the Knicks to the Finals. Melo does deserve a spot though.

Spurs

 C: David Robinson, Artis Gilmore
PF: Tim Duncan, LaMarcus Aldridge
SF: Kawhi Leonard, Sean Elliott
SG: George Gervin, Manu Ginobili
PG: Tony Parker, Avery Johnson

Spurs team could probably compete with the best of the Celts and Lakers, wow.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Who would be on the Nuggets team?

 C: Dikembe Mutombo, Marcus Camby
PF: Dan Issel, Antonio McDyess
SF: Carmelo Anthony, Alex English
SG: David Thompson, Allen Iverson
PG: Chauncey Billups, Fat Lever

I feel bad leaving off Bobby Jones. I prefer him over Alex English. Has an argument against Issel and McDyess too. But Issel and Artis Gilmore were so dominant together in the ABA so I gave Issel the nod next to Mutombo.

The Nuggets have a pretty strong next five = Nene, Kenyon Martin, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe, Nick Van Exel. Raef LaFrentz. Andre Miller. That team should really have more postseason success looking at all the talent they have had over the years.

LA Clippers

C: Bill Walton (post injuries), DeAndre Jordan
PF: Blake Griffin, Elton Brand
SF: Danny Manning, Corey Maggette
SG: Ron Harper, Eric Gordon
PG: Chris Paul, Sam Cassell

I don't know whether to put Bill Walton on the team or not. Two somewhat healthy seasons with 55 and 62 games. Similar level as Bill's 86 Celtics performance wise. Only 25mpg.

Clippers big man bench spots. Kaman, DeAndre Jordan or Loy Vaught. Close contest. I went for the defense and athleticism of D.Jordan.

I think Elton Brand can play at center alongside Blake Griffin or Danny Manning at PF a lot. That will be a very dynamic combination alongside a PG like CP3. Great big man passing with D.Manning, B.Griffin and B.Walton.

You could throw Bob McAdoo on that team.  Not sure there is anyone else from the Buffalo Braves days worth using.

Portland Trailblazers

 C: Bill Walton, Arydas Sabonis
PF: Maurice Lucas, Rasheed Wallace
SF: Cliff Robinson, Scottie Pippen
SG: Clyde Drexler, Brandon Roy
PG: Terry Porter, Damian Lillard

A lot of competition at that PF slot = Buck Williams. LaMarcus Aldridge. Brian Grant. Mychal Thompson (PF/C).  And at SG = Geoff Petrie, Jim Paxson, Sidney Wicks.
