Beal’s avg salary will be close to Otto’s
True that. Problem is, the Wiz would never trade Beal for Hayward. Can't think of a realistic way to trade for Beal. Unless perhaps we offer them Hayward + the Kings pick?
Boston in : Beal
Washington in : Hayward + 2019 Kings first
(or something along those lines)
Again, not sure whether I'd do it. Just thowing out ideas for discussion.
No thanks to that contract
As things stand right now, I would argue Hayward is on a bad contract as well.
TP for the Beal/Hayward trade idea.
In a vacuum, I do that trade in less than a heartbeat.
In Beal you get the younger player (only 25, not 26 till June), deadlier scorer and the more confident player, which we need badly right now. He also rebounds ok for his position (4.7) and has about 4 assists per game.
Hayward looks like he is playing scared. Given his horrific injury, that's not being judgmental nor is it not understandable. Given the player Hayward is right now, heck even given that he gets back to 80-90% of his former self this year, you have to do that trade. Don't know if Wiz do it, but I'd do it.....in a vacuum.
We are not in a vacuum however. To trade Hayward right now, after we (Stevens, esp) wooed him to sign here, and he has a horrible injury, looks REAL REAL bad. To Stevens, to the other players on the team and to the NBA players who might choose/maneuver to play here.
Id love that trade, though.
EDIT: Maybe a way to keep the Sac pick and keeping with the theme of the thread of reuniting the twins:
To Boston: Beal, Morris
To Wash: Hayward, Rozier
