That teams at the top of the draft are targeting Brown only confirms everything I have thought about this draft. Those teams obviously believe Brown, as currently stands, is better than anyone's ceiling they could draft. This is a crap draft. Don't trade Brown for anyone other than Zion, and we all know that isn't happening.
or they see the Celtics might blow it up and want the cream of the crop
No, it's because it's a crap draft. Teams at the top of the draft seldom go looking to trade those picks unless it's to pick up an established player they think is much better than what they could get in the draft.

GMs get locked into players in the top of the draft and usually way overvalue the pick. It's great to be able to do so because those GMs are usually GMs of terrible teams and can sell the fanbase on the potential of their shiny new rookie.

Do you think the Knicks, the Pelicans or Cavs would have an easier time selling to their fans and team a brand new rookie with supposed loads of upside or Jaylen Brown, who if you look at his entire third season may have stagnated or regressed?

The answer is very easy. They keep the pick if that player has loads of upside. But, if all the players in that area are believed to have a lower ceiling than Brown's current play level or Brown's upside, they are going to trade that pick.
Calling it a crap draft before any of them have taken a step on an NBA court is absolutely ridiculous. No one knows how good this draft is gonna be, no matter what anyone says.

Well, this draft has crap trade value is a better description.   There could always be surprises.
That's fair. But, then again, how many times have teams made major mistakes by undervaluing draft picks like that?

Probably less often then the opposite

Really? No way. You could make a huge list of times teams that came to regret trading their draft picks. Most great teams are built of drafting well.

If Memphis asked for Brown, their pick back, and the 14th pick for #2.... I wonder if Ainge would bite.

Maybe Memphis isn’t completely sold on Morant and really want their pick back to go into full tank mode while still netting a guy with all-star potential.

If we can include Yabu, we will still have a near-max slot.

Morant
Smart
Hayward
Tatum
Vucevic?

That said, no way this happens.

Brown vs Bucks -- 16 ppg -- 46.5% fg% -- 5 ribbies/gm

If there's a 19 year old that has that in him? Trade Brown.

I prefer keeping him as his trend seems up. He also plays hard and none of the kids in the draft tomorrow have had to cover any NBA player anywhere ever.

To conclude, if Brown isn't that good? Why have the teams that he has played against "inquired" about him?

I like to hear this. The lottery was quite chaotic (although being scared of LA getting a top 3 pick for a bit was awful), so hopefully the draft will continue that way
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Do you really believe Memphis would trade Conley to Utah, if they weren't going to take Jah? Zion to New Orleans and Morant to Memphis might be the only things you can count on happening in this draft.

Maybe they're super duper high on Delon Wright ;)

If we're really high on Garland, I could see something like:

Brown, #20, #22
<==>
Garland, future 1st (NO/ CLE/ PHO)

Rolls a wing about to get paid into a PG on his rookie deal, and another future asset to go with the MEM19 pick.

I think it just shows that Brown is still is expected to become a great player in the league.

Are people here really suggesting that NOP would send us Zion for Brown?

Good lord, this has gotten bad round here.

No they said they wouldn't trade Brown for anyone in this draft other than Zion/Morant.

Which is to say they aren't willing to trade Brown as neither Memphis or NOP are moving those picks.

If Kyrie said he was coming back, if Brown left, I'd do a move quickly.

I'd puke if that happened.  I have doubts Morant will be as good as Brown.   hope like hell Danny hold onto Brown instead of making a reckless trade for pick in this draft.
