Worst 15 seconds of basketball ever.

I've been critical of the state of college basketball for a few years, but what I just witnessed was horrific.

Ohio State @ Penn State

15 seconds left OSU has the ball down 64-63.

Set play 3 pointer? MISS  Out of bounds to PSU.

They foul a PSU player and he hits one of 2 free throws.

65-63

Ok so down 2 OSU should take a nice 2 point shot or drive to the basket to draw the foul.

Set play 3 pointer?  CLANK  game over.

WHAT?!

2 Set plays for 3 pointers through the same ok 3 point shooter.  Neither of which is necessary and horrified me.  Just poor basketball.

You make no sense whatsoever, if OSU is down 2 and PSU hits a free throw how is OSU now only down 1?

The last 3 would have tied the game and a 2 would've had OSU losing by 1.

Sticks in my mind as the worsted college play ever .....with national championship on the line .

Seriously, this is exactly why I rarely watch college basketball unless its the tournament. Anyone who says it is better than the NBA is a dirty, rotten liar.

Not sure what the issue it. So they ran one bad play and one questionable play. There's nothing quite so horrible about looking for the win in a 2-point game instead of trying to force overtime. Overreact much?

not what I would consider smart basketball but not the worst 15 seconds ever.  too many other candidates for that title.

I just don't understand why you would run either of those plays.  Junior high teams know how to play the end of a games like that.

OSU is the better team you force overtime and beat them.
