With a team WAY over the cap we'll only have the MLE and our draft pics to really add to the team.

It looks like we're gonna have something like 22-26, and i'm hoping for a couple players to drop...  ::) i know i know

But theres a few guys that could REALLY hook us up.
(from NBADraft.net)

(18th)Devin Ebanks- 6'7 Small Forward
College- West Virginia
NBA comparison- Corey Brewer
Strengths- "Prolific" Rebounder, "never takes a bad shot"
Weakness- Non-threat from deep, disappears offensively because of being "not selfish enough"

(27th)Paul George- 6'8 Small Forward
College- Fresno St.
NBA comparison- Trevor Ariza, Danny Granger
Strengths- Excellent Passer, Outstanding from outside, smart defender
Weakness- Needs to bulk up, unselfish to a fault.

Strengths-  "never takes a bad shot"

Thought this was funny because I saw a few big games of W. VA. this year and he had the ball for end of game or end of shot clock possessions and just didn't shoot the ball at all. He had no awareness whatsoever.

Haven't seen George yet so can't really comment on him.

Agree with you on the draft. Would really like a rotation player and you can get them in the 20s: Granger, George Hill, Courtney Lee, Kevin Martin, Rondo, Delonte, etc.

Da'Sean Butler.  We should draft him.

The above list wings sound pretty great! Hopefully one of them is available in the 20's.

I see you're rocking the Kobe swag in your profile. Did you lose a bet?

Anyway, Paul George. I want Paul George, bad.

IT'S NOT A FOR SURE THING, THAT JOHN WALL IS GOING IN THE DRAFT........LOOKS LIKE HE MAY NOT BE READY TO GROW UP YET(dont necessarily blame him, if he's not ready be grown and on his own, it is a smart decision to wait until you are ready):

I'm really intrigued by Quincy Pondexter. I know he's been at Washington for like 20 years now but he really seems like the type of player that would fit with the C's. I'd also like to see us try and draft Wayne Chism in the second round, out of Tennessee. Both of these players seem like they could be of the "contribute right away" variety. Just my opinion though.

Agreed.  I think he would be a decent pick for the Cs.

As of this moment, we would be picking 21st, I believe, with little possibility for moving down (IMHO), but some possibility of moving up a few spots if we were to perhaps lose a few games due to resting starters (not a terrible idea, IMHO).  We could end up a few spaces higher, in the upper-teens.  Maybe that would make a difference?  Would it?

ONE OTHER THING:  If Doc is going to insist on playing a full-bench shift, then running them for 38 minutes for a night or two to try to figure out who the scorer is, who would get a rebound now and then, etc. might be a decent idea...

No question that the franchise NEEDS to start building the young talent base with this draft.  It is critical.  The first step in building the post-KG era started with signing Rondo, and I think this draft will be the next step (barring a draft-day trade, of course).

ONE MORE OTHER THING:  All CB followers should note that I've never taken a bad shot in an NBA game either, and would be happy to play for the minimum...

i have watched wayne chism for 4 years now here in knoxville - he has always been very good inside on the blocks, back-to-the-basket player. always had the strong rebounding as well. also shoots the 3 very well and has learned to be more selective with that shot.

his defense has improved greatly during his college career - he can guard inside and on the perimeter. he is a decent passer, plays hard and never had any off-court issues, which is saying something under the program he's been in. he's a great kid.

finally, chism would be all about the team ......... and i think he's only going to get better.

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:

Yeah, I'm a huge Vols fan, so I'm pulling for him to make it in the NBA. Nothing would be better than to see that happen with my Celtics. Like you said, he's essentially a model citizen and he's a smart player, good on D too.

I like Avery Bradley from Texas a lot.  One of the best on-ball defenders in college as a freshman, he can shoot and dribble and he's got plenty of length and athleticism to make up for his lack of size (6'3) at the 2.  He hasn't put it together yet, but he's got the most potential of the guys I've seen listed at the end of the 1st round. I like him as a TA replacement for the immediate replacement with long-term potential as a 6th man combo guard.

I really like the big men likely to be available at the top of the 2nd round.  Jarvis Varnado looks a lot like Theo Ratliff, Kenneth Faried is a bigger Renaldo Balkman.
