Obstacles:
Would Doc agree to coach in LA if KG/PP aren't there?
Does KG have any interest in this?
Is a player coach a viable option in today's NBA?
Would Danny laugh at me for even suggesting this?

What are your thoughts?

Personally, I am salivating at the thought of a KG leading the team with Rondo as his de facto assistant coach.  This is not because it makes us any better but because our other options at coach are awful, and this move would guarantee that KG remains a Celtic for life.

Today, the collective bargaining agreement between the NBA and the players' union prohibits the use of player-coaches, in order to avoid circumventing the league's salary cap, as coaches' salaries are not counted under the cap. Therefore, if a player is to serve as a coach, he would have to receive commission from his contract as a player. The player, then, is not technically an official coach of his team but instead simply a coach in name. One example of a player in recent years who was groomed for eventual official coaching duties using this practice was Avery Johnson.

If KG became a player/coach, then the Celtics would become the "Bad Boy Pistons" and "Malice at the Palace" would happen at least once every week.

I mean look at what KG turned Rondo, Perkins, Tony Allen, Glenn Davis and others into.

It is definitely something that would be fun to watch.

Well KG did make him man up and actually improve.

Have you forgotten KG making him cry by going too hard on him?

I have thought a lot about Rondo some day becoming a player-coach towards the end of his career but this is possibly viable as well.

I dont know if KG would be up for that, though.

NEWSFLASH this has not been done since 1979, folks.  We went 27 and 41 and it was Dave Cowens.  I would not hold my breath on it.

In all honestey i dont know if kg would be that great of a coach. I think blokes like nash kidd billups keyon would all be better coaches than KG Duncan would also be better

Some players just dont strike me as a coach after their time is up
