It's a lovely day to be a Celtics fan today. Watching both the Bucks and 76ers get bounced on the same day.  ;D

I’m think NY and Indy will be a battle series for sure

Hard to pick who might prevail….I intensely dislike both.

I see some wondering if Rick Carlisle has the inside track on stopping Brunson after coaching him in Dallas. I don't think so. Brunson has one of the most versatile scoring repertoires in the league. He has counters for everything. I don't see it.

A Tale of Opposites

Rebounding

NY = 1st in league rebounding differential +4.5 per game
Indy = 24th in rebounding differential -1.8 per game

Pace

NY = Last in league, 95.2 possessions per game
Indy = 2nd in league 101.7 possessions per game

First Round

Milwaukee dragged Indiana down to a league average pace in their series. Rebounding was neutral but MIL did not have Giannis.

NY and Philly played at the 2nd slowest pace just ahead of BOS and MIA. NY out-rebounded Philly by almost 5 rebounds per game.

Normally when you look at a series matchup you get some immediate sense of how it might play out, but with NY and Ind I have no idea.

You could tell me that NYK slow the series way down and grind out a win with offensive rebounding and I'd buy it. You could tell me Ind buries NYK under a barrage of threes and I'd buy that.

The cool thing about ethe series is the matchup is new. This iteration of these teams have never played each in the playoffs. Its hard even to draw conclusions about the matchup based off individual team play since Ind didn't have Siakam most of the year and NYK didn't have OG but DID have Randle most of the year.

I think I give the edge to NYK because of home court advantage and having the best individual player in Brunson (Haliburton would have a case if he played like first half Haliburton, but he hasn't since the injury). It felt like they played better in their series than Ind did.

I am surprised many people think the Pacers/Knicks will be that close. I think the Knicks will win in 5/6. Brunson is the most consistent scorer by far in the series. I think the Knicks will destroy them on the boards and both teams made the same amount of 3s during the year so I do not think the Pacers will be able to really outshoot the Knicks. As a Cs fan I much prefer the Pacers to win the series as a Knicks series if the Cs get there no doubt will be super frustrating at times.

the Pacers would need great defenders to put on him to slow him down. not sure they have them?

celtics in a potential series could throw white/Holiday/Brown even pritchard potentially at him.

It sounds like Jarrett Allen won't play today. Still struggling with that bruised rib. He is travelling with the team but he wasn't able to practice yesterday. Sounds like a long shot.

Struggling with changing directions, raising his arms.

That could loom large if this series starts Sunday.

Can the NBA please get rid of Beverly once and for all? The guy is a clown and a jackass. He needs to be suspended a season for his conduct.

I don't think he is worth the drama he creates. Players of Embiid caliber? Yeah you put up with the clown show. Beverly is a rotation player at best. Definitely wouldn't put up with him throwing a ball at fans.

Nor disrespecting a female reporter after the game.
