https://www.cleveland.com/cavs/2019/05/cleveland-cavaliers-meet-with-kevin-porter-jr-at-nba-combine-will-consider-him-with-no-5-pick.html
The Cavaliers will cast a “wide net” when searching for the right prospect to select with the No. 5 overall pick, Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com writes. Kevin Porter Jr.(USC)  and Bol Bol (Oregon) are two of the players the team will consider in that spot.

Porter Jr., who was suspended during the 2018/19 season for a “personal conduct issue” at USC, met with the Cavs on Wednesday. The team plans to bring him in for a pre-draft workout in the coming weeks.

Bol underwent measurements at the combine in Chicago but is not expected to workout or conduct interviews. The 7’2″ center suffered a foot injury back in December and was unable to play the remainder of the campaign for the Ducks.

Interesting. Any idea why Bol is refusing any meetings or interviews? Might have a promise from someone he prefers? Was hoping he would be for us if we pick but thought someone would take a chance on him inside top 10.

Cavs determined to keep the tradition of losing sports in Cleveland.

This would be a dumb pick at #5.

I've said for a while, but if Bol Bol was available in the 20s, I wouldn't mind using one of those picks on him as a bit of a gamble. But yeah if he ends up going as a Top-10 pick I'd be absolutely stunned.

Maybe Cavs are open to moving back and want to look at guys projected a little later in case they do
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

We could argue the same about Giannis back in 2013. A lot of people are killing Danny for not picking him back then. I see Bol Bol as a similar type of player - raw, unfinished, but highest upside AND downside. Will there be a brave GM willing to swing for the fences so that 5 years later someone can either say he's visionary or foolish?
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

I think his ceiling is actually quite limited. I recommend you watching The Dime Drop's breakdown of Bol on YouTube.

Is there a decent alternative to Draftexpress?

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
I have to assume Cavs are going to move down then.

I don't believe this at all to be honest. Sounds like false rumors, they already have too many bigs at the 4th and 5th spot.

Someone like Reddish, Little, Culver, or any 3 & D wing makes more sense to me.

Trade our 14 and 22 for their #5 pick if they really want Bol Bol

And then include our #5 pick in a blockbuster package to send to New Orleans for Anthony Davis. New Orleans get the #1 pick and #5 pick, they'll clearly be the winners of this trade going young lol.
