I know this guy's been debated to death the last week or so, but it appears that we can all forget about Matt Barnes.

I just read a story about the problems Barnes is having with his Toronto deal and, in addition to never mentioning Boston as a serious contender, quoted salary cap guru Larry Coon as saying that a team cannot sign another team's free agent and then trade him...which kills any idea of using a TA sign-n-trade to land Barnes.

With that reality, I'd have to say that the best realistic option for Ainge might be to hold onto Marquis Daniels and try to trade Sheed's deal, a 1st rounder and filler to the Cavs for Shaq and Jamario Moon.  I know Anthony Parker seems more appealing, but he's only got one more year on his contract.  Moon has two, making Cleveland more interested in dealing him, and he's bigger 3 to play alongside Quis at the 2.  A second unit of Nate, Quis, Moon, Baby and Shaq would be pretty good.
