Based on draft projections these look to be the players available when we draft at #16. Obviously some players might not be there (Oubre, Kaminsky, etc.) and some players certainly will (Vaughn, Looney, etc.), but it's a good range given most mocks.

didn't we just go through this on the front page?  wound up with Dekker (yuk)

Have no idea, I seldom check the front page. I think a lot of posters just come here for the forum…maybe not.

My vote goes to Portis, I have him ranked above Oubre and Dekker in that order. He can do good things for us, great all around player with little downside. I am intrigued by the combination of Portis and KO on the floor. Having two strech bigs on the floor is a promising combination which I don't think  I've seen before. Oubre is a close second, has the tools to be the next Leonard.

The interesting pick here is Portis, but we don't need another PF.
That's why I don't really like our position, I would rather trade up a bit for #12 and pick Booker or trade down at #20 to pick Anderson.

The way I see it he is 6'11 at like 250 pounds, he can defend the center position, and play PF at the other end.  Having him on the floor gives tremendous versatility between the 4 and 5.

got it.  used to do the same thing.

well, based on who was still left over when we got to the C's pick on the front page, I took Lyles with Hunter as option B.  hated the Dekker choice.

Portis has a little KG in him and that is enough for me to have become enamored with him.  I'll take him all day, every day at #16.

The interesting pick here is Portis, but we don't need another PF.

The biggest thing about that is if we feel he can slide over to the 5, and give minutes there too. That would give him a bonus in terms of stock. His measurements look the part.

Ht 6-11
Wt 246
Wingspan 7' 2"
Standing Reach 9' 0.5"

agreed.  IF (very big IF I think) Portis is still there at 16, I'd take him.  projects to be very solid frontcourt player that should a 4/5 in the league.  has the size to do it.  think he'd work out better at center than either Sully or KO

Good point. Let's see if he show that during his workout with the Celtics. If they think he can handle it, they will probably pick him, because I think he has great potential. He's a project though at center position.

Edit : Booker is at #9 in front of SJ according draftexpress. If he's rising like that at 18 years old, there must be something going on.
