I don't think Tatum is close to an all star right now.  Brown has made a jump but still not there either.  Our best chance is kemba and hayward.

Not close?  I don’t think he should be in this year, but he’s close.

Just Kemba IMO. Hayward will have missed too much time

Give Tatum maybe 2 more years. Brown is close though.

Kemba Walker is definitely all-star caliber. Hayward has been missing too many games.

Brown is at 19.5 and 7.5 on 48% shooting. How much more does
He have to do average wise?

I think the Luka love has really caused some people to underestimate people like Jaylen.

Right now you could be right that it might only be Kemba.

But what if the Celts keeps winning games and will be #1 or #2 when the All-Star voting starts?

Last season Middleton became an All-Star because of the Bucks' record.

Kemba will likely be the starting PG if we stay on pace and he stays healthy. Then again, fanboys love Simmons.

I think you can make a pretty good case that Brown deserves a nod more than anyone else on the C's this year. If Kemba is having a better offensive year, its not by much. He's shooting a few of shots more, he's been money at the line, and averaging 3 more pts per game. He does take primary responsibility for the 4th quarter and has mostly come through, so he gets props for that, but I'm not sure we wouldn't be better off moving the ball more.

While Kemba has been pretty solid as a defender too, there isn't much comparison with Brown.

Hayward deserved consideration too, but obviously being out for 6 weeks won't make it likely, and Tatum just hasn't been as good either.

Fan voting is a much smaller percentage than it used to be (50%). Simmons is also averaging a career low in points. He could certainly bump those averages up, but would be a bit a surprised if he made the team at all. I also think the coaches who vote would not respect his lack of development or willingness to shoot behind ten feet when guys are the league like baynes are doing it every year.

I'm looking at frontcourt players in the East right now and it looks pretty good for Tatum. Giannis, Siakam, and Embiid are probably the 3 best frontcourt players in the East. Jimmy Butler has the reputation but his numbers aren't even better than Tatum's this season.

After those 4, we're looking at guys like, Tobias Harris, Khris Middleton, and Kevin Love for forwards and centers like Domontas Sabonis, Andre Drummond, and Nikola Vucevic.

Tatum is definitely among that group if not ahead of all of them. He leads the C's in minutes and FGA's. If they're top 3 in the East midseason and he's still putting up these numbers (and he could easily improve his efficiency) he'll probably be an all star.

Am I missing anyone?

Blakely thinks Tatum will be an All-Star reserve.

https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/celtics/nbc-sports-bostons-nba-eastern-conference-all-stars-volume-1#slide-8

Reserves: Jayson Tatum, Boston
20.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists

The third-year forward has started playing with more consistency to warrant being talked about as one of the best in the East. While his shooting numbers are slightly down (40.9 percent, compared to 45.0 a season ago), he’s taking more than five more shots per game while still posting career marks in rebounds, assists and steals.

Tatum has a higher ceiling than Brown, but I think it’s hard to say he’s been better *this year*. Their counting stats per 36 are almost identical and Brown has been more efficient - TS of 58 vs 51.

And that’s just looking at offense. Factor in defense and Brown is head and shoulders above Tatum.

Voting has begun for the starters. Will be interesting to see if head coaches pick Brown or Tatum as a reserve.
