Pacers finally lose one! We really need them to drop down to #5

That would be ideal, but I would be fine with them dropping to #4 if the Sixers can get to #3.  Either way, we need them to lose a few games here. Sorry Pacers, you are a likable bunch, but I don't want my team to even have a chance of losing in the 1st round.

Also can agree with that. I just can't stomach a Philly first round matchup. The Pacers have 10 games against teams under .500 remaining so hopefully they lose a few more!

Ideal scenario is us being a 4-5 seed while PHI is the 3 seed... or us being the 3 seed, period.

Worst case is being a 4-5 seed and facing PHI first round, then MIL. That would be brutal. At least even if we're the 4-5 seed while PHI is the 3 seed we face a somewhat easier, Oladipo-less Pacers team in the 1st round while PHI-TOR battle it out.

Either way, we're going to have to win road games if we want to beat MIL and/or TOR in the playoffs anyways so I think at this point the focus should be on drawing IND or BKN in some way for the first round (preferably through just getting the 3 seed outright).

I would be concerned if the Celtics are dragged to 7 games against Brooklyn in Round 1 given that they always fall asleep against inferior opponents like the Knicks, Clippers, Bulls or Suns.

Lakers down by 8 with 9 minutes to go against the Grizzlies.

And the Lakers haven't even scored yet in the 4th...  :o

Also, Boban just hurt his knee and needed to be helped to the locker room. Sixers up 3 on the Pelicans, 20 seconds to go.

As bad as this season's been, at least we're not the Lakers. Who signed the best player in the world and wasted a season of his prime because their young guys aren't good enough to win without him nor were good enough to get Davis.

Down 105-101, Lebron made a shot while fouled to make it 105-103. Then he missed the FT and MEM made theirs. Made the difference in the end. Lebron also struggled for the most part (shot 8-22).

And UGH, Sixers hold on to beat Pelicans 111-110. At least Pacers lost I guess.

Annoying that Philly won, but I hope Bobi is okay

Mem literally put AB on him most of this game! How in the world does LBJ let AB defend him at all? When I first saw AB would be his defender I just knew Mem was about to get ran over but it worked lol. LBJ doesn't look good even though he continues to rack up stats.

why does no one talk about LMA and how he left Dame, while in his prime, to go to a team that hasn't done much better than Portland AND lost KL? LMA was a bigtime FA when he went to the Spurs.

I think the whole Kawhi deal swept it under the rug.

Plus, Dame stepped up his game a lot after LMA left. Probably more than he may have had LMA stayed

LMA was just a weird big-named free agent signing that year. He could've teamed up or formed superteams with LeBron or Durant/Westbrook or wherever but the Spurs with their old Big 3 being one foot out the door.

So Doc Rivers stopped a game to give a shout out to Dirk Nowitzki through the mic and called him a GOAT.

I don't remember Doc Rivers doing one for Paul Pierce  ::) ::) ::)

Yeah, but Dame was already really good when he shared the light with LMA. I still think they would be an average team with him but he could have left a bigger legacy with the Blazers IMO. He hasn't done anything to be remembered much as a Spur, you have to do a lot to be truly remembered after the players that flowed through there. Had he continued doing what he was doing, even without a chip, Blazer fans would be screaming for a statue... okay, maybe a bit much, but he surely would have been held on high for years.

I understand the frustration, and I think it's pretty lame that he didn't, but Dirk has had a pretty considerably better career than Paul, so I guess the shout-out is more deserved in a vacuum. Given Doc's history with Paul it's a bit iffy, but still, sentimentality is very en vogue this season

He chose Pop and KL. KL never seems like one for the spotlight so LMA never had to worry about not getting the shine. KL was also arguably the 2nd best player in the league, being a great defender (of the best player in the league at that) and a really high level offender. Pop is one of the greatest coaches who seemed to get the most out of any player inserted into their system.

It seemed like a good choice but look how fast it went left. I know he doesn't have to justify doing what he felt was best but man, in the end, it sure seems like he made the wrong choice. I'm not only thinking about him not winning, there have also been rumored issues between him and Pop in the past.

If anyone missed it, very classy act by Doc Rivers last night, who grabbed the PA mic at the last stoppage and exhorted the home crowd to give Dirk a standing ovation.
