So as of November 8th, there's good news and bad news.

Good news is the Celts are 6-1

Bad news is the Lakers are 6-1 and may end up being really, really good.

What worries me about them is they have size and perimeter shooting.
Lebron, AD, Howard, Danny Green, Kuzma, etc.

Here's hoping they tail off (because I hate Lebron, Anthony Davis for not wanting Boston and so the Lakers don't tie us in banners.)

I continue to be skeptical that a team of Bron, Davis, and a bunch of role players who didn't play together last year is going to seriously contend for the title.

They're better than I expected them to be at this point in the season.

I think it's fair to expect them to run into some injury issues sooner or later, though, given the age and mileage on pretty much all of their key players.
Yeah, but it's fairly obvious they are not the 5th or 6th seed in the West some thought. It turns out that proven vets like Avery Bradley, Danny Green, Dwight Howard, Jared Dudley and KCP can add a lot to a team, even as role players. Plus you have Kuzma, who should prove to be a major plus once back fully healthy and Rondo, who adds a bunch more to that team once he returns.

In that thread wondering what people thought about the Lakers, I said I thought top 2 in the West. I didn't think people were giving the role player/complimentary parts on the Lakers enough credit. Most of those guys are proven ballers.

They really miss Mirotic, he provided them another forward to go big with but not sacrifice too much quickness or spacing. I think they'll embark on a journey to find Nemo next offseason

Sixers just blew the game against the Nuggets after being up big. Now on a 3 game losing streak.

They haven't been doing well in impact metrics too. Embiid has been disappointing, he hasn't improved to be the guy I thought he had a shot at being.

And before that they beat the Blazer by 1. 1-3 on the west coast trip.

Man, I wished I watched that game. I turned it off early on.

Bucks also just lost to the Jazz on a game winner by Boganovic. Great night for the #1 seed Cs 😀

The Bucks have had an odd start. I still think they're an elite team though.

Eruption alert in Portland.  Lillard has 44 at the end of the third going against our favorite point guard.  Currently down 3 because the other Blazers are all cold.

Something looks a little off about them. The best I've seen them play this year was the first half against the Celtics. Maybe they just need to gel, still so early in the year...

Win-win situation for the Heat-Lakers matchup too. If Lakers loses, Celtics will hold the league #1 spot. If Heat loses, we will further secure the #1 Seed in the meantime.

Thoroughly unimpressed with Adebayo so far - he can't hit his free throws and is a better passer when he's handling the ball on the perimeter than when he needs to make quick reads. His energy and ballhandling are impressive though.
