"Danny Ainge still wants the Boston Celtics to re-sign Kyrie Irving and he believes he will be successful in doing so if they trade for Anthony Davis.

Irving is also expected to consider the New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers."

That’s who we’d prefer to move, but GSW could maybe want Horford instead and try and run it back + keep Klay

The third pick is still a nice asset to trade. In fact, a lot of GMs may consider the third pick to be more valuable than Tatum, considering Tatum himself was a third overall pick and only has two years left on his rookie deal. If Tatum had an amazing year things might be different, but right now he doesn't look like the sure thing, future all-star he did last year.

The Knicks also have Knox and Mitchell Robinson and would undoubtedly offer as many future 1sts as it would take, which somewhat matches our collection of crapola first rounders this year (in a draft most analysts say is shallow).

It's looking like the Celtics will have to offer everything they have now to win the Davis sweepstakes. I'm talking Smart, Tatum, Brown, the MEM pick, and at least two of our three first rounders this year. Even if it meant Kyrie staying, that would be a humongous risk to take.

Didn't we hear if we sign Horford there is a good shot at KD?

Not expecting Irving to stay here if KD goes to NYK Irving follows.

Barrett, Irving, KD, Knox, Robinson [dang] that's a lot of talent and probably the best team in the East.

ECF Game 7 with 2 all-stars returning, great young players, and a boatload of valuable draft picks including one from Sac which was destined to be top 5.   Eastern Conference favorites coming into the year, favorites to add Anthony Davis to the mix solidifying a championship era.   Top  coach, top GM.

12 months later and it’s a mess. One all-star doesn’t fully recover, the other folds it up in the playoffs after struggling with leadership and attitude all year. Coach is questionable; GM criticized. Coin flips for draft position all go bad.  Draft lottery doesn’t help. Now KI likely to jump ship while  more our assets appear needed for what may well be a 1 year rental for Davis.

Meanwhile, Lakers and Knicks who make mistake after mistake have top 4 lottery picks and loads of cap space.

All hard to believe and sickening.

Oh boo hoo.

If we lose Kyrie and Davis we still have three first round picks this year, and two next year and at the end of the 2021 season, we will have tons of cap space to sign players better than Hayward and Horford.
