I see McCollum as pretty underrated.

I also think Towns is overrated.

Living near Minnesota, Wolves fans criminally overrate Towns. It is to the point where many of them would prefer him to AD, which absolutely blows my mind.

Overrated would be whomever Lebron is propping up.

This year it's Kuzma, Ball, and Ingram.  Take your pick.

Underrated ... A lot of good choices here, but I'm going to mention Rondae Hollis Jefferson.

He doesn't fit the mold of a modern power forward or wing. He's a key player for the most overlooked and ignored team in the league.

He does a lot of stuff, just doesn't really shoot it.

I'll make a plug as well for Domantas Sabonis, who is having a great year.

Kuzma is not overrated at all Pho. That guy is a baller on any team in the league. Ingram and Bad, that's a different story.

He's fine.  On a bad team he's just a guy who puts up some points though.

It's very dependent on whose ratings you're getting exposed to, but here's my crack, trying to mix in some less prominent names:

Overrated: Ben Simmons, Dennis Smith Jr., Aaron Gordon, probably Draymond Green by now

Underrated: Conley Jr, Jamal Murray, Domantas Sabonis, Zach Lavine*

*yeah this is not a common pick but while his D is correctly scoffed at he's an insanely hard worker and aside from last season his efficiency as a high-volume scorer is better than people think. Kinda went the so overrated he became underrated route.

I'm too lazy to do a full review of the entire NBA, so I'll just take my picks from what others have posted.   8)

OVER:  Ben Simmons.  Until he gets a jump shot, I don't see him as this elite type of player.  IMO, he's a bit better than Rajon Rondo at his peak.

UNDER: Joe Ingles.  Not flashy, just does a lot of things well and can SHOOT.

Im even more lazy than you ,   I ll support this too .     Ill add that I don't see much to write home about Lonzo Balls game so far .   CP3 looks older this year than i thought he might .

Honestly until he shows he can be part of a winning team, Lavine can score as many points with as much efficiency as he wants, I'm not gonna put much stock in it.

John Elway.  I don't care if it's the wrong sport / era.  John Elway, IMO, is the most overrated player in the history of pro sports. He had a career passer rating of 79.9.  I don't care if he won a super bowl ... so did Mark Rypien.

I mean, I think you can be underrated and still not amazing at your role. I just think the (mostly warranted) backlash against him as he became more prominent went too far and hasn't receded to a more appropriate level yet.

I think he's a better Tim Hardaway Jr who's dumped on way more often than Hardaway Jr is, if that gives it more context.

Ball isnt overrated. His lockdown defense especially on Walker had been astounding. Hes doing extremely well. Ingram is the one people on this blog proclaimed was the next Durant, I, myself included.

I think a lot of people (read: Lakers fans) still look at Ball as a possible future Jason Kidd-esque star, whereas he looks a lot more like a guy that might eventually become a deluxe Ricky Rubio, at best.
