Does this close the gap between them and the Clippers?

Might make them worse because

(1) More vulnerable on defense. Cousins too slow.
(2) AD easier to defend because teams can hide slow bigs on Cousins.

Another prediction of mine. This has made complete sense since AD was traded there. I think Davis and Cousins really enjoyed playing together.

Toronto really exposed Cousin's defensive weakness in the finals.  He did show a few glimpses of the old player he was.  This 1 year deal may be a wake up call for him to slim down and try to regain whatever speed he had.

Yeah tbh I don't like this. Boogie showed flashes last season near the end. If he comes back and plays solid that Lakers team is still extremely scary, even after missing out on Leonard. I know this was expected but still...

I actually would have liked adding Cousins myself. But first I want to see what he signed for (how much $$$). But either way it looks like our front office just wasn't interested in him. They've had many chances to get him and never have

What is their starting lineup? 4 PFs and Rondo? Is Cousins' quad still messed up?

Keep in mind that his defense was affected by dual Achilles / quad injuries.  The guy is way better than his salary will reflect.

This is a good move by Lakers. Not like they had many options.

Cousins and Davis blended well together in NO.  They destroyed Celtics in Boston that season. Just over powered us.

I think Cousins has a good shot at playing again at his top level. I don't think the achilles injury will have as much of a long term effect on him because he has never really relied on his lift, more on his skill and smarts and size.

I agree he'll probably make them worse if he's their starting 5.

Rondo

Cook, Daniels

James, Green, KCP

Kuzma, Davis, Cousins, McGee, Dudley

They'll probably need to trade Kuzma and filler for another ball-handler. Only LeBron James and a shaky Rondo. Might be hoping Cook grows into that role - never really had a chance in his NBA career.

Thought he would choose between Lakers & Clippers
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

So their starters could be

Rondo
Green
LeBron
Davis
Cousins

This starting five would have won a title 3-4 years ago. Can they still with Kuzma as their 6th man?

That's probably right.  They're closing 5 probably doesn't have Rondo or Cousins.
