Since nothing is really going on with the C's right now...who gets the opening day start?

I think a big sign that Beckett is hungry again would be for him to concede the spot to Lester.

Tito will probably give it to JB if he wants it though...

Lester.  It's been a long time since Beckett has earned his #1 credentials.

I haven't been as excited for the start of a season of the Red Sox in quite a while as I'm this year.

I'm still crossing my fingers for a Papelbon trade. But we'll see.

Lester is so by far the best pitcher on the team, it honestly shouldn't even be a debate. Hell, Lester is one of the 3 best pitchers in baseball, he deserves the start, no questions asked.

Let's not sleep on Buchholz either. He was our best pitcher last year, but I have a feeling Beckett might get the nod if he's looking good in Spring Training, etc.

I think it goes without saying that Lester SHOULD get the start. The question is...who IS going to get the start?

Beckett is a prideful guy and I think it would be a big step for him to realize he has some proving to do. Im not so sure he would take that step.

I think Tito will give the ball to Beckett but it will be up to him to let Lester be the #1.

He was the best pitcher as far as ERA goes.

Lester won more games, pitched more innings, had more strike outs, had the same whip, lower BAA...

I love Buchholz but Lester is the Horse and has been for 3 years now.
