After losing to Detroit, the Nets are now 7-11 against teams with a record below .500 -- the most such losses in the league.

Who would have thought a group of diva players wouldn't show up against bad teams

Poor Kyrie heaving up 28 shots and a -13 on the night. He shot 43% in that loss while Harden only shot the ball 14 times while hitting 57% of his shots but also a nice -11 on the night. Harden must be loving life right now playing with Kyrie. They both want to shoot the ball every time they possess it.

Even Detroit can score over 120 on that Nets D.

Irving was a problem before Harden and is an even bigger problem after Harden.  They just need to bit the bullet and move on from him.

Irving for Lowry

Irving for Bledsoe, Ball, Hart

Irving, Dinwiddie for Hield, Barnes, Whiteside

Irving for Harris

I'm sure there are other trades out there, they just need to cut bait and get what they can.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

this would be so great
and you're right it makes sense team- wise

but do we think the GM there really would do something like this?
probably not, right?

Whoa. The Nets would be tough if this happened.....

The Nets will be fine as long as Durant is healthy. Because if he is -- they have Kevin Durant, and no one else does. I still think they're the most likely team to come out of the East, ESPECIALLY if Kyrie leaves / retires / gets traded gets cut... whatever, just disappears.

I've said it before with the Nets. They have a phenomenal Big 3. And yes, the game today is more geared towards 3-pointers and scoring a lot of points. But you still need to play some defense to win in this league, and the Nets really don't have it. They won't be able to outscore teams every game and put up 125+ consistently even with KD/Harden/Irving.

The weakest link on the team is clearly Irving and more so on the defensive end. Putting up numbers won't do much if you're giving up even more to the other star guards on good teams that you match up with. Harden's also not the greatest defender, but he's still decent on that end and can better make up for it in other ways. Harden's also averaging 12 assists a game which is crazy.

Durant is the glue holding things together. They better hope he comes back soon before Harden and Irving are at each other’s throats. Couple more losses to bad teams and they will be there.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.
