The Celtics are devoted to staying under the cap. That can backfire this time of the year. Ainge needs to get that $9M exception by giving up a 1st or 2nd with a sign and trade for Irving.

Heat have to trade a bunch of good players and a future first to get Jimmy and they get a bigger exception to spend.

same, his teammates iirc loved him in SacTown. While his defense is terrible, he provides offense and rebounding, something we are lacking even with Kanter. With what is left on the market who can at least rebound and defend, are pretty much already taken. Rebound first, worry about defense later imo.

Not to mention, yes Cousins is a hothead, but i think with the right cast, he will do fine. Just imagine Smart's passion rubbing off onto Cousins.

I can’t see how he would choose us over the Heat.

They have more than the vet minimum, no income tax, better weather, doesn’t have to share minutes with Kanter (they can’t play together).

Neither have I, but that doesn't mean he can't be an issue inside the locker room.  Most reports mention that Cousins was prone to yelling at coaches during practice and film session.  There's also his lack of composure on the court.  These can be major issues, especially if teammates really like him.
