WCS now a FA. Would be my first choice.

But it might be the guy from France unfortunately.

Could we afford WCS? I think he’s probably going to get more then the MLE?

I think trade is our only hope.

Smart for miles turner is starting to sound better and better to me

Could we sign and trade Smart for WCS?

No.  Firstly because that would be foolish, even as a WCS supporter, and secondly because Sacramento will have to renounce WCS to have the cap room to sign their free agents, making WCS a UFA with no Bird rights.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I'm going to throw a random name on here that could probably be affordable.

Luke Kornet.

7'1", 250 LBS, played for the Knicks last year.

His main selling point is his ability to shoot threes and a growing ability to block shots. Rebounding might still be a concern, as he averaged only 3 rebounds a game in 17 minutes of game time last season, but his last month of the year has shown that he could improve that number by averaging 6 boards in 27 minutes of gameplay for April (he also logged in 2.7 blocks per in that month).

I know he's not a sexy name, and he's probably not the Center we want if we are trying to compete, but there's some decent potential there, and he's shown some growth in his two year with New York. With our limited budget, it's worth a shot.

Tristan Thompson is a guy who could be serviceable and very easy to obtain as I think Cavs are looking for cap relief.

Have you guys actually watched WCS play? There's a reason he's considered the "man on the way out" for a non-playoff team. I think far too often we underestimate Smart's value to the team

Think Danny will have to settle on the French big and try to make it work.

Yeah, that was what I wondering. Oh well.

Hard to see WCS coming for what little money we have to offer.

Yeah, I am not sure I'd even do the deal. I just wanted to know if it was possible but it isn't. So that is that.

If we can pull Willy Hernangomez from the Rozier grade and then sign someone like Vonleh, we would have a pretty decent 3-headed monster if we can keep Theis. Time Lord would be 4th string

I'd love Hernangomez. He'd instantly be the starting C for us.
Yeah if we could get him back in the trade as the asset or send a 2nd to them instead to get him would be really good.

Then sign the best big man available at the taxpayer MLE and Theis.

So we got Kanter. Hopefully will bring back Theis. Getting Willy would be HUGE because we would basically be getting him for nothing. We would have the United Nations 3-Headed monster at center. Wouldn't even need that French dude.

Huh, interesting find. Wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him.

I heard Knicks fans call him UniKornet or something like that  ;D
