If we can pull Willy Hernangomez from the Rozier grade and then sign someone like Vonleh, we would have a pretty decent 3-headed monster if we can keep Theis. Time Lord would be 4th string

I'd love Hernangomez. He'd instantly be the starting C for us.

Favors traded to New Orleans for a few second rounders.

Could have got a player in a position of need that would have been a great al replacement for a bag of peanuts.

Ainge has lost it..

No, we couldn't have gotten Favors for a few second rounders.  The Pelicans have just enough cap space to absorb his $17 million dollar contract.  The issue for the Celtics is cap space.

WCS now a FA. Would be my first choice.

But it might be the guy from France unfortunately.

Could we afford WCS? I think he’s probably going to get more then the MLE?

I think trade is our only hope.

Smart for miles turner is starting to sound better and better to me

What guys can we realistically afford...saying we don’t get any more money.  We need to start there.

Trash...guys that are not worth starter minutes.

A lot of the money is gone at this point.  If WCS wants a short-term deal to rehab his value outside of Sacramento, we could be an attractive offer due to a pretty clear path for playing time.

We will have a hard time against them. If our shots aren't falling they will kill us.

There are 2 paths to filling in our big man need:

1. Using the League Exception for a player willing to take this low of an investment: we've seen players of great quality do this in the spirit of filling in a gap year before a large contract and I would argue the Celtics are a perfect landing spot for players in this position given they would get a look at starters minutes. Players such as Enes Kanter, Robin Lopez, DeMarcus Cousins (who I believe earned his next longer term contract last year with GSW), and others.

2. Making a trade: I've always loved the kid Alex Len. His salary fits right within the League Exception we've been talking about. Could we entice Atlanta to move him with draft pick compensation? He has an attitude and toughness in the paint.

Is Theis our starting center?

We are going to get creamed!!!

How deep are we at the wings?  Tatum, Brown, Morris, Hayward, Langford.  Decent, but not stellar.

Is like we are a JV version of ourselves.

Well at least I’ll enjoy watching the young grown.

Here is where things stand...don't think the S and T makes a bit of difference:

Level setting Boston for the morning:

A Kemba-Rozier double S&T requires Boston to get just as far under the cap as signing Kemba outright would have. They can keep Theis but need to renounce Morris. They have the RME ($4.767M) NOT the MLE ($9.258M).

You read my mind on Alex Len.  I'm not his biggest fan, although he's the type of Center the Celtics could trade for without any cap concerns.  Atlanta would definitely move him for the right assets.

Is he regarded as a relatively high IQ player?  Whoever we bring in needs to be a solid team defender.
