I can't say I watch much of the sports talk on TV anymore.

I can say I always liked his suits. He's a well dressed man.

No doubt. He's got great style.

He's also charismatic, and he's a heck of a leader.

That said, I just don't agree with a lot of his opinions.

I'm sick of sports being all about personalities and politics. For football, give me Ron Jaworski analyzing Xs and Os.

Hahah seems I am the only one.
Maybe, but give us a specific reason or example to illustrate how you feel.  I am open-minded.   8)

I generally like Sharpe.  His football analysis is excellent and he seems to have a realistic approach to the bigger topic items from the other sports.  The problem with those type of shows in general is that they touch on a lot of sports and a lot of topics and it is quite frankly just too difficult for the hosts to be an expert on everything so they sometimes make missteps.

Yep. Sports TV has the same model as TV News. The whole model is to put people on TV who can talk with authority, regardless of whether or not they know what they're talking about, and have them give their opinions. No analysis, just people giving their opinions as loud as possible so viewers can argue about whether or not they agree.

I'd rather come here and get opinions from people who aren't doing it for the money and are, often, just as informed.

Can't say I've watched this Fox show with him but I always found Sharpe to be a joke when he was working for CBS and doing the NFL Today.

Jaws is the only part of ESPN I like anymore. Everything else is garbage.

I'm a big Louis Riddick fan.  Not much else over there that I'm a fan of these days, though.

I am not sure if I am the only one who believes this, but it seems that no matter what the sports topic, Shannon Sharpe seems to always put forward the most logical and comprehensive argument in all of sports media. I can't remember another top level NFL player who is so eloquent with his speeches and has such a broad knowledge of sport in general, I personally hope he can move out from Skip's shadow and perhaps have his own show one day.
this is akin to saying Stephen A Smith is the best basketball reporter/analyst.    :o

At times Sharpe is insightful but Skip and producers wanted to put the same First Take show they did on espn. So what we end up seeing is a loud, arrogant, step on your feet FS1 version of Steven A Smith. Its like reality TV and this type of banter sells so all we re seeing is an act.. Even though Sharpe is a character he is 10x that for the show..

I love him only reason I pay attention to the show.
