Can someone give the site a reset? With everyone we've signed what do we have left? Saw on twitter if Crowder delays his signing we could have 6 million in cap space. Have no idea if it's true.

Secondly, who are some people we could target with what we have left?

With the assumption of the new projected cap of $69 million:

Approx. Cap Space: $8,364,306

Approx. Cap Space (Stretching Wallace): $15,101,543

Approx. Cap Space (Dumping Wallace): $18,470,161

If the cap remains as initially projected until the last few days ($67 million) then just adjust accordingly.

Keep in mind that Amir's and Jerebko's salaries are estimations used, there's no concrete number to use right now.

I don't know the details of our cap space but one thing I know is true; crowder delaying his signing would have a negative impact on our space due to his cap hold (assuming we have his bird rights).  So delaying shouldn't help us.

Great thank you!

Ironically, Chris Sheridan just tweeted a helpful link: http://www.sheridanhoops.com/2014/06/30/boston-celtics-salaries-and-analysis/

So, with this cap space who do you think we could target? Who/What do we need?

That's false. His cap hold is much smaller, only $1,181,348.

Crowder's cap hold is ~$1.7 million until he signs his new deal, so him waiting to sign would put us at ~$5.3 million lower cap number.

If this is true, Boston has about $2M in cap space but if Wallace were somehow moved by trading some picks Boston would have $12M in cap space. That would allow Ainge to get a quality player.

Ah, thanks.  Forgot that the cap hold was based on his previous salary, not the upcoming one.

What did you use for Johnson and Jerebko's salaries?

My numbers were about a million off from yours.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Don't we need to use up all of our cap space or we lose the trade exceptions?  Just when I think I get the trade exceptions down I have a question on it. Lol

Gone, had to renounce them to sign Johnson

For cap space I always take into consideration renouncing bird rights and trade exceptions.

As for salaries of Jerebko and Johnson:

Amir Johnson   $11,750,000
Jonas Jerebko   $4,820,000

The're not my estimates, but Eric Pincus' who I think is very good at this stuff. But still a guess.

I hope it's worth it.  The Pierce TE ended up netting us Thomas and Zeller.  I guess Johnson's contract is like an expiring contract since the 2nd year is not guaranteed.  His contract and Wallace's contract could be very useful if we are able to pull off a trade for a big star during the season like Cousins.

Here's a quick guide I just found to the salary situation for all teams for those that don't know how to do the work or don't want to do it. It uses the $67M projected cap, but keep in mind that latest news is that it may go up to $69M.

http://www.basketballinsiders.com/2015-16-team-by-team-salary-summary/

As of July 3, 2015 morning with the $67M projected cap:

Boston Celtics

Current: $4.6-13.2 million, the latter if they cut Chris Babb, Phil Pressey and stretch the contract of Gerald Wallace.

Acquisitions: Reported two-year deals with Jonas Jerebko ($10 million, second non-guaranteed) and Amir Johnson ($24 million, second non-guaranteed); Reported five-year, $35 million deal with Jae Crowder.

Cap Holds: Brandon Bass ($10.4 million), Jonas Jerebko ($8.6 million — re-signing), Luigi Datome ($2.3 million), Jae Crowder ($1.2 million – R, re-signing)

Non-Guaranteed: Phil Pressey ($947k), Chris Babb ($947k)

Note: Crowder’s low cap hold helps the Celtics, if he signs last.  Should Boston under the cap they lose their MLE, BAE and TPEs ($12.9 million, $7.7 million, $1.3 mil, $1.3 million, $690k, $625k, $500k, $286k, $153k).  If they can fashion a sign and trade for Johnson via the Rondo TPE, they would be able to stay above the cap.
