The only member I can think of other than FL who has announced herself as female is Marseye.  I'm sure there are plenty of others (and I know of a few who haven't declared their gender publicly), but this is definitely a male-dominated blog.

Hey, I'll 'fess up.  Female here--but not a redhead! ;)

I think the really hardcore fans over the past, gulp, 20 years in the wilderness have tended to be male.  Certainly there's not a 30-to-1 gender ratio among casual fans.

Perhaps this sort of forum appeals more to men, on average, because men are less chatty in person?  Because there's something of a male style to the banter, due to those posting being overwhelmingly male?  (The male geek factor.)  Because you're more likely to feel comfortable posting if you played 'ball yourself?

It took me years of lurking before I actually signed up and posted comments, not only in sports, but in political and professional forums as well.  Not sure why, just didn't feel like it for some time.

i've always wondered about gender on here. i figured 99.9% of members were male. that i know of only flceltsfan is female. honestly can't think of anyone i've conversed with that may be female - sorry if you are :-\.

Did that come out wrong? Sorry if you are - you mean if you mistook someone to be male who is female? not sorry if you're female...am I right?

no it was a general apology to anyone who is female that i hadn't acknowledged as female.

How long do we have before we need to declare?   ;)

I think gender is very important when communicating on the internet.

From now on, I'm starting all posts with "As a man," otherwise people might think that my full on man-crush for Paul Pierce is a normal female to male crush and that would just be wierd.
