Seriously, the most disturbing portion of the video is how the other team just let this chick lay a spanking on them as she did.

What are they supposed to do?  Retaliate, and potentially end up playing shorthanded when they're nursing a one goal lead?

It's the refs jobs to keep order on the field.
yep.
Better than ending up with lifelong injuries and having to play the whole season shorthanded.

Plus I'd just assume "Well if they're going to let her play that way they're going to let me play that way"

Id probably just sub some girl that isnt going to play much to go take her out or fight her, they both get kicked out and you have a fair game.

Unless the refs don't see it that way, and they red card the BYU girl but not the other one, at which point you're shorthanded the rest of the game.
And didn't Cheney and Temple's basketball program get in hot water due to similar goon-type tactics?

I'm glad BYU showed a ton of sportsmanship.  I may have gone there and lived under the same honor code that these girls are asked to follow, but girl or no girl, I'd almost have to stomp a mud hole.  I'm just not level headed enough to take stuff like that.

Okay, a question for you.  The Celtics are playing the Cavs in the Eastern Conference Finals.  Anthony Parker is constantly taking cheap shots at Pierce, and they're not being called.

In a close game, should Pierce haul off and deck him?  Should Doc sub in somebody else to go head-hunting?  Or, do you think that maybe the Celtics should stay focused and just win the game?

lol way to break it down Roy. Hopefully they'll understand the situation a little better in basketball terms.

Id put giddens in there and have him deck Parker.  Wouldnt you take that trade? Giddens for Parker.  But havent we seen enough scuffles out of the celts to know that they dont put up with this kind of stuff?

So, the Cavs get two shots and the ball, and maybe more (since Doc would probably get ejected, as well).  If they beat us by two points, was it worth it?

No need to go to extremes, or did you forget the signature "Goodbye Zaza" by any chance?

You know exactly what happens if we're getting cheap shotted, we've seen it for two years. KG, BBD, or Perk sets one hell of a moving screen on them. Typically Perk will even put a forearm into their head.

Its one turnover and gets the point across.

We're a veteran team, the players take care of it. Perk in particular protects Rondo, whenver he starts getting thrown around he gets even.

Depends.  The way you are describing it Pierce probably wont be effective if he is constantly being cheapshotted.  Are you more effective after the altercation because the cheapshotting stops? Theres alot of factors.

Not trying to be argumentative on this one,but im sure most of us here have competed in sports and have had situations similar to this where our effectiveness was taken away because of another teams player playing dirty and it not being called.  I think I would take my chances giving up the two points for most likely ending the cheap shots and adding to our best players effectiveness.

There are ways to send such a message that won't result in ejections though.

Here's a reminder:

That wasn't dirty! You can't compare that to punching people in the back, or face, or pulling people down by their hair. Those two situations are not comparable at all!
