Depending on how this deal is structured people could be feeling very different about the Perkins trade. When fit west is a boss.

Celtics likely send Jermaine O'Neal and another player to New Orleans in sign-and-trade, sources said. Hornets would move players elsewhere.

The price seems a little steep. What does everyone think? Maybe I just got my hopes up with all the talk of the m-MLE.

We'll need another Center now.

unbelievable. i did not see this coming at all. if the ACL has not slowed west significantly, it gives the celtics a GREAT front line with depth. i think west and KG could play very well together for parts of games.

ainge has really impressed me. bass, wilcox, marquis, dooling, now west. that is quite a bit of quality depth. given that the season will need a deep bench to give the starters a rest, ainge may have done a great job.

i did not think the celtics had a real shot at a championship this year. now, i think they are contenders once more.

thank you danny.

I'm a fan.  Hope the knee's serviceable.

Love the Bass acquisition too.
Maybe it's Brandon Bass that is heading the other way. Bass and some cap filler (A.Bradley?).

New Orleans gets a well priced replacement power forward who is in the prime of his career. He is from the area (Baton Rouge), went to college at LSU and played there before (although failed to get off the bench).

I'd prefer that move - West would make Bass pretty redundant, we still could use Green.  We can flip Bass right away because he was the only one in the trade, right?  Is that how it works?
I think so. Yeah.

Are there still quality backup wings available who would sign for the mini-MLE? If it's Jeff Green, that is being traded away I mean.

Wait, we're keeping Green *and* getting West?

Jeez, the Hornets must have thought they owed us a favor after screwing us in the CP3 deal. ;)

Would have to sign another center, wouldn't we??

I don't want a team of 6'9" guys up front that create a logjam...  Love the idea of getting him, just don't know how the minutes and rotations would play out.

So at this point, if that is indeed the trade, the C's would have no interior defensive presence except for Kevin Garnett.

Yikes ...

David West has desperately wanted to play for a winner, and will take less money to do so in Boston.

Jermaine?  We keep Bass and Green?  I like this a lot provided Danny's got a C signing up his sleeve.

Huh???

David West?

Really?

Okay?

How many power forwards does one team require.  Technically, Boston doesn't have one true center on their roster.  Amazing.

I assume that a "big" trade is in the works or Ainge has lost me on this one.  Because Chris Paul isn't walking through that door to pass to West.

A small price to pay, if true.  I like JO in the 15 games per season he plays, but we'll adjust.
