Pippen by a mile.  His defense on Magic in the 91 Finals was the turning point in that series.  Say what you want about Wade scoring in 2006, but Scottie's defense on the 2nd best player in the league was a sight to see.

Stacked up against Wade he's a better defender, rebounder, passer and ball handler.  He would often bring the ball up and facilitate the offense.  As good as Wade is on the fast break, Scottie was better.  He could finish strong at the rim or make the right play to whoever was with him on the break.

I also can't stand Wade and Pippen was one of my favorite players.  Just as a basketball fan I think that has to factor into the equation.

As far as top SFs I've ever seen he's right up there after Bird, Lebron, Durant with Grant Hill, T Mac and Nique (at their peaks).  Never really saw Havlicek, Dr J, etc.

Wade is also an undersized 2 guard that would have trouble guarding bigger guys like Jordan, Kobe, Drexler and Penny in the post.

Pippen was a perfect complementary player.  Wade needs to be the main guy.  Pippen.

Scottie Pippen vs [Lebron James]: Who ya got?

Fixed

Scottie is way better player than Lebron
-better defense (post and perimeter)
-passing
-moving without the ball
-doesn't need to dominate the ball to score. More efficient offensive player

The guy who said LeBron is better than MJ.
I agree...the guy with more court sense than common sense, evidently...he did bow to MJ on the court in his playing days.  (A tinge of jealousy in his comment, perhaps?)

Which would you prefer as the second best player on your team?
I haven't seen Wade be the second-best player on a team yet, so can't say.

"-doesn't need to dominate the ball to score" is a fancy way of saying "can't really create his own shot". LeBron was more efficient offensively.

Pippen never won anything without Jordan and D Wade never won without Shaq and hasn't with two other all-stars.

I mean I love winning, but not at the expense of throwing up every time I look at someone. I see the question as similar to a Kobe vs Lebron scenario....and it's just like....false choice. I will not choose between two evils and you can't make me.

There. I said it. I feel better now.  :)

Unless it's clutch time, at which point he proceeds to either be completely horrible, or disappear altogether.

Naw not necessarily. Pippen in '94 (When Jordan played baseball) proved that he can be the go-to guy and have the ball go through him during the season

Its kinda like Earl Monroe. Able to be a ball dominater when he was on the Bullets. Then play within the team offense on the Knicks. Lebron lacks that play within the offense trait lol

The three years before MJ left the Bulls were 1st in offense twice and 2nd once. The first 2 full years MJ was back they finished 1st in offense. In 93-94 they were 14th in offense. It's not like Pippen did a ton of stepping up.

I remember watching that season, and Scottie was in the arguement for best player in the league.  You can't just look at a change in team stats, and think thats a good indicator of what 1 player is doing.  Scottie absolutely dominated.  He went from usually playing against the opposing teams second best defender, to routinely being double teamed.  He was everything to that team...the distributor, the play caller, the finisher, the anchor of the defense, the man they turned to for that last basket, that last stop....everything.  All the while making the team his, and getting them to buy into winning without Jordan.

Scottie over lebron isn't even that close to me.  Scottie over Wade is tougher, but I still go with Scottie.
